By all accounts I've heard this was one of the best shows ever! So happy for the boys....thanks for the update Kellee...love you! xxx

Hey there JK lovers, sorry for the delay. Hubby and I had an awesome night at the Brixton. Love the venue. It's right on the wharf....perfect date night. We got to the venue at around 8:30 pm. JK wasn't playing until 9:30 pm, so we decided to get something to eat since we were starving. There were a bunch of stores and restaurants on the wharf. We found a small and cheap place to have shrimp cocktail and fish and chips. After eating, we went back to the venue and saw the boys setting up on stage. It was a small stage and it was a miracle they were able to fit all their gear since Lukas Rossi's drums were already set up on stage and took a good amount of space. Hubby ran into Toby in the restroom or loo? (is that what you Aussy girls say?). I asked hubby if he saw anything interesting, as a joke of course, but Toby had just finished up and was on his way out. ;( lol.
Then it was time. The boys started playing. Here's the song list for the night: My Baby, December, Then She Said, Canvas Satellite, On Fire, Innocence, Watcha Gonna, If Only, TIA, and Save me. It was a much longer set than I had anticipated but it was all good. There were a decent amount of people at the venue and they had lots of seating and space infront of the stage. Hubby and I decided to sit this one out and record the show instead. They rocked. That's the best description for it. They rocked.
The highlight of my night was when Toby dedicated the new song, Canvas Satellite, to me and Addy!!!! I was on cloud nine. It was a complete surprise and I almost missed what he said since I was talking about the boys to the girls sitting next to us. After the last song, I went up to the stage and snagged one of the song lists. hee hee hee
I didn't get to take too many pics since we were video taping the show. But I did get a couple with Toby and Todd, Dale and Lucy and Jaybro and his girlfriend, I forgot her name. Lucy and Jaybro's girl are really nice and friendly just like the guys. Pretty awesome.
We couldn't stay long, cause my hubby had to be up at 4:30 am for work. I did get to talk to Todd a bit more than the others since he walked with us to our car so I could give him the apple streudel and fresh apple juice that hubby and I got from the apple orchard that morning. It's apple season and there's this place where hubby and I go and get unpastuerized, pure apple juice. It's like biting into an apple....really. Anyways, we walked back to the venue, said goodbye to the guys and went home.
Here are the few pics I have. I'm trying to figure out how to send Addy the video...Addy, can you help me with that? Maybe you can get an okay from the guys so you can put it up on here. I'm also giving a copy to Toby the next time we see him.

Oh Addy, I'm sooooo bummed. The video cut right before he dedicated the song and it deleted 3 songs, canvas satellite, on fire and innocence. My battery was running out and it somehow cut right after then she said. I just got done watching it for the first time. Just my luck. I'm so mad!!! Darn it!

I'm having a piece of apple struedel right now....yummmmmm!! Nikki, if I could send all you Aussies some fresh, unpastuerized apple juice and struedel....I so would do it. You guys have been great. :)

Squee! Can barely contain the excitement about all the new songs the boys are working on. Shame we won't get to see the vid but I know the wait will be worth it!

The funny thing was.....I had 4 extra batteries and 2 extra disks....but I guess I forgot to charge the batteries. :( ooops.
Well Anna was right--perfect venue for a date night. I had never been to Brixtons @ Redondo Beach before. What a treat, right on the Pier so you can smell cotton candy and sea breeze before walking into the club. And what a nice club, great ladies loo and great sound, everything was super nice in there. Its the little things right?
As we were paying for our tickets @ the front door, Toby walked out from inside the club and passed by us. I didnt stop him to chat & was busy paying for the tix but Todd was standing and hanging out right there @ the front door too so I introduced him to my husband. Todd proceeded to give hubby a razzing and be impressed at the same time that he was so casual and relaxed, wearing shorts & "Thongs" as he put it. Then the debate started 'were they thongs or flip flops' like in the US lol
Anyhow I wasnt sure since JK were the opening band if I'd get to see maybe 4 or 5 songs (like in recent past) but this was a long set and I am so thankful. They got to play a perfect length set & sounded friggin amazing in there.
The New Song Canvas Satellite was awesome. Cant wait to hear more and more of that. I did take vids and no photos again so hopefully the vids will be out sometime to enjoy! I am technically challenged as you all know lol. You all should friend Jodie Clapp over at FB though. Her friend Martha came out too and took some way pro photos. You shoulda seen the lens on her camera. It was so big it woulda put any paparazzi to shame hee hee. There's some really gorgeous shots there by Martha on her photography page too at FB.
Well you saw the set list by Anna. I am just wrapt every time I can see Then She Said--my fave and they were just super awesome. So cool to see hear a new song (Canvas Satellite) and hear Toby say "This ones's dedicated to Anna (points to her) over here and my friend back in Australia Adelle" I got shivers and we girls all yelled Addy's name and raised our glasses in salute!
What a great song. Toby also said that the club reminded him of their hometown in Melbourne since it was right there on the beach and everything. The club coulda been fuller of course but I think there was just as many people there to see Jk as Lukas and let me tell ya, they stole the night for sure! I invited my friend Pam (JK fan) who brought her friend Donna (never seen the band), and my buddy Rob came (never seen the band before) and Jodie brought her friend Martha (JK newbie who took those great pics) so 3 JK Virgins who are now 3 JK fans for sure. To me thats success, spreading the JK love and gaining new fans!
Toby came out in a beanie again! But you know the weather is dropping now so it seemed appropriate this time hee hee and I happen to love the black ski hat beanies on guys anyway--common for California "dudes".
It was also super cute to see Lukas come out during JK's set. He stood by the side of the stage and rocked out, then I guess he couldnt contain himself because he came and stood right next to me and totally rocked out, fist pumping hand in the air rocking out. How cool is that? Love that those boys support each other and the friendship they have. I think next time though he should open for Juke..thats how much they stole the show.
Anyhow I gush and ramble and love those boys! Every time I see them a new appreciation forms. I had such a great time and it just goes to show--I got no pics of them or with them and barely said hi to them but all I needed was to hear those tunes again. Put me right for the rest of this week I think atleast, What a beautiful thing!

I love hearing JK virgin stories. I have yet to meet one who doesn't get captivated like the rest of us :)

You would change your mind. I'm the same way. I don't like regular apple juice, but this one is sooooooo good. I take advantage of the four months out of the year just for the apple juice and struedel. We go every other week to refill. :gigg: If you ever come our way during the fall months, let me know and I will make sure you taste it.

I'm loving this new song. It would be great if it makes it onto the US release. I already have it stuck in my head, which is such a good thing after humming the new Foo Fighters song for the past few days! It might be time for another JK field trip to LA to hear it live.:)
