Just had to pop in before bed and say that the boys started out the US invasion with a massive bang tonight (or was it this morning? I think it was after midnight LA time before they finally went on). The US Street Team girls got some major love during the show including Toby taking Diva's hand and serenading her at the end of My Baby. Then there was my personal favorite - Toby sitting himself down with his legs dangling off the stage to do an acoustic version of If Only. I had one side of him and Kim had the other. Maybe in this case it was a good thing that the bouncers were running the Whisky like a police state otherwise some unmentionable things could have easily happened.
The boys were beyond generous with their time after the show. After the club closed, and we were hanging out on the street outside the club talking, Toby insisted on rounding up the rest of the boys and doing a group pic with everyone. It's hard to look presentable when you've been up for almost 24 hours, but, I'm so happy to have the shot!
It was so great to hang with all the girls again and to meet Kim and a few other amazing ladies for the first time. Here's a pic I took with the camera on my blackberry. It's not great, but, I'll have better ones from my camera when I get back home to Chicago much later tonight.

So much fun!!!
Too tired to write much (headed to work after only 3 hours sleep) but I had a great time. Both Dale and Toby came up to chat with me before the show and still remembered my name. Never ceases to amaze me!
That was one of the best nights ever!! First they started with a band, (don't know the name) but pretty decent. Then came the Nelson twins and sang acoustic..."After the Rain", "Here she comes" (I think that's what it was called) and a few others including one that was written about their father and sister, Tracy. They started the house a rockin'. Then Paperback Hero rocked the house. They sang a few songs including my two fave's "Lullaby" and "Numb". Then came......Juke Kartel. They were awesome last night. They seriously rocked the house. Best performance line up ever. I danced the whole night through with my hubby, of course. After the show, we did end up talking to the guys outside the club. And as usual, the guys were their normal, down to earth and people pleasing selves. Hubby and I took some pics. Will post a little later. Gotta do some other stuff first. Can't wait to see them again at the Roxy.

OMFG!!!!!!!! amazing night.. I know you all want details and I will see what my brain can come up with right now it is a little muddled.. yes I do have pictures.. they will be coming.. I promise.. tomorrow!! I just got home saw my kids long enough to put them to bed.. I am not far behind, just need to find food.. and then when I recharge I will try to over load you all!!:-*

OMG I don't even know where to start.. I will skip all the LA weekend stuff for now.. so Sunday Stephanie Reed meets Kellee and I at the hotel and gets ready for us and then it was time to hit the Whiskey. We were all ready early and the doors weren't even open so we headed down the street to a resteraunt called Rainbow- which I need to google seems it is quite famous and I just haven't heard of it..lol then after eating back to the whiskey.. I was getting a bit nervous at this point. So we get there andthere is some crappy band on, not paying much attention.. we go upstairs to get a drink and meet up with Kelly Mullis ( she had hung with us duringthe day) and I almost walked smack into Toby. He was talking to someone and his back was too me it was dark and he was in all black so it took me a second.. then all I could say was OMFG.. it all became real at that minute you know.. Then there was tommy and jay wandering around too. Just briefly though I didn't get a chance to say anything. Then Dale walked by and saw Kellee and Stephanie and came over to say Hi so they introduced me to him and told him it was my first Juke show and he was quite nice saying they hope it was good for me.. and then off he went.. so all the guys have disappeared from my line of sight and I have time to compose myself. Then the next act goes on and we can't believe it.. 80's(maybe early 90s not sure) group Nelson- they were doing a small acoustic set.. so that was entertaining on many levels.. then back upstairs for another drink and socializing.. drinks were sooo expensive I knew I was going to be sober for this night.. Then Paperback Hero was going on so I wanted to go and watch some of their show.. so I conviently position myself where toby is watching and talking to people.. People were all over him and me being the way I am just sort of held back, watched the band but kept an eye on what was going next to me.. then when there was a break I went for it and just introduced myself. It helps that Addy told him I was coming so he knew who I was and gave me a big hug , took a pic.. and we chatted for a few minutes.. he told me after the show we would get together and take some band pics.. I of course was all for that.. Then he had to go start getting ready.. the crowd for paperback hero was pretty big so we were just hanging in the back.. Then as they were ending we started moving our way up to the front of the room.. it was getting late.. the guys were supposed to go on at 11 but it was almost midnight by the time they started.. and at that point the crowd had thinned out a bit and I was up front and center.. nothing but stage right in front of me.. then they guys were up there starting to set up and I was getting pretty excited.. Finally... the time had come and out they came.. OMG it was amazing.. toby was right in front of me and since he is so tall and i am soo short and he was up on a stage I had to constantly look up, my neck was a bit sore at the end of the night but hell it was worth it!!!!!!!!!!!!! .. Jenn L from chicago was next to me and Kellee ended up being on the other side of her.. and Toby leaned over to Kellee and sang some of My Baby to her which was so amazing.. but my fave part of the night.. well one of them was If Only.. they did it acoustic and Toby sat down on the stage.. RIGHT IN FRONT OF ME.. I had to try really hard not to stare at his crotch. I was basically in the middle of both legs.. if I had gotten pushed an inch I would have been wrapped in his legs.. and omg let me tell you I was soo tempted.. it was sooo beautiful.. Then later during the night I want to say during On Fire he held my hand for a while while singing.. OMG he has the softest hands ever.. so wonderful. I didn't want to let go. and before I knew it , it was all over... I was in such a great mood.. it was amazing.. all I could have ever imagined.. =)
So after the show we were hanging around the Whiskey waiting for them to get done but since they had gone on so late the bar was closing and the rude security kicked us out.. So we were standing outside and they guys started coming out and there were some people talking to them so i was waiting my turn and everyone was waiting with me... Kellee and Steph kept telling me go say goodbye because Stephanie still had to drive home and get up for work in the morning.. So as soon as I had a chance I went up to tell him we were leaving and he gave me a big hug and asked me if I would wait just a few minutes.. Then he started gathering up the guys because he had promised me a group picture.. Dale was no where to be scene so it is me and 4/5 of Juke.. then Dale showed up so me Kellee and Steph had our pic together with the whole band.. because he is amazing and he was doing it special for me.. didn't reallly expect it to happen because it was so late.. but he remembered and made sure it happened.. love him!!:wub: : ) then Dale asked me how it was and if it met my expectations.. and then Todd - I adore Todd.. We were talking and I reminded him of some messages we had sent back and forth almost 3 years ago before I got too involved with the street team and watching his face as he realized who i was.. he got excited and pulled me into a great big hug.. it was awesome.. Then it was time to go.. I was talking to Toby some more but kellee and steph had started walking down the street so I had to go.. and that in a summary was my night..

What a great venue for the first show since the move! Big stage gave the boys room to move. As usual I brought my Canon. Dale was really on his game. The attached URL is Toby's shoulder ride on somebody's shoulders. Anyone recognize that fan? That's what I call supporting your band!!!

What can I say? I had an unbelievable weekend. The best was getting to meet Kim who has been an internet friend for 3 yrs! We chat everyday so it was so great to finally meet and chat in person for a change. She is a gem! We were roomies all weekend.
We started Saturday when Kim B (Cho) picked us up and whisked off to the Griddle cafe for breakfast -- a Hollywood staple apparently and we were told Oprah eats there, we know Tommy Lee likes the place. No wonder it has a line down the block! Cheesecake pancakes for me--yum! Thanks for that Kim B, your a true trooper!
Then she took us to Venice Beach so Kim S could see the ocean and get an eyeful of all the freaks there...Cannabis smell wafting in the air everywhere lol. Kim B dropped at us hotel after Venice Beach.
After drinks at the hotel and very little to eat we headed over to Red Rock where Steve McQueen use to hang back in the day and Matthew McConnahey (spelling) and Juke like to hang also--no star sightings but it was hoppin' and we had more drinks and then cabbed, and stumbled (well I stumbled) back to our room for bed.
Sunday after Brekkie at Saddle Ranch we completed the touristy stuff, did Hollywood BLVD Stars walk of fame, Kim got a pick of Elvis star for Addy and we took a Hollywood stars homes tour of Beverly Hills and stopped at a scenic lookout for pics of the Hollywood sign. Saw Katie Holmes/Tom Cruise's house, Posh and Becks House Simon Cowell's house and so many more. Good touristy fun! Kim was able to complete her souvenir shopping too. We street teamed the Star line tours people! I met a guy from Perth who knew Juke and told him he should come out!
Then we headed back to the hotel for drinks Poolside on the rooftop deck high overlooking Sunset Blvd--very Hollywood and the weather was gorgeous, scorchin' hot. Kelly Mullis, my friend Pam from another forum and Steph (4reeds) then joined us.
Then it was get ready time and off to the Rainbow bar and grill for dinner--our hostess was one of the gals from Big Brother (Adams season--the one who dated James with the potty mouth--whats her name?) and Pizza for dinner.
Finally to the Whiskey, met up with Jenn L, Anna, Kelley Mullis, Kim B, Rose and the usual suspects. Couldnt believe the Nelson brothers were opening the show--80's flashback completely!
Priceless moment for me: Steph, Kim B and I were upstairs on the balcony watching Kim S meet Toby for the first time and get her pic. It was awesome seeing that from afar. Chris from RSSN was there too talking to his friend Toby--a reunion of sorts. Dale greeted us all and gave hugs upstairs as Kim told you. We headed downstairs to get a spot to see Paperback Hero. Toby came up and gave us hugs--great to see him--he is such a sweet guy! Then it was time for Paperback Hero who put on a rocking show.
As soon as they ended, the entire street team girls pretty much made it up front for front row for Juke. What an amazing show. Never once have I been sung too by Toby but during the opening song My Baby he grabbed my hand and looked into my eyes and sang to me straight away for what seemed like forever. I dont want him to know it made me a puddle of goo but it did and was appropriately blushing the whole time.
What a ridic rocking show they put on. The keyboards, the guitar changes, Toby's interaction in the crowd, seeing him sit on the stage with legs dangling right in front of Kim and Jenn--well I thought Kim would faint but she did good lol. This guy put Toby on his shoulders and he had to be half as tall as Toby--he held him up for a long time but I am not sure how lol
It was over way too fast and the show was so good. I didnt meet Harvey but finally saw who he was and let me just say it gives me tingles to know that their manager believes in them so much--he was rocking out the whole time. Awesome. Steph made sure to go grab the set list for Kim to take home after they finished.
Then we hung to say our goodbyes and chat a bit and Kim got Toby to do the group photos so that was fun. Steph and I were pushing Kim to get up there and say her goodbyes. For one they were gonna have to leave and for 2 we didnt want to overstay our welcome with them since they get so bombarded and are so overly generous with their time. Then it was hugs good bye to the guys and and we made out happy and tired and glowing. I cant wait to see the gals and Juke and do it all again! I didnt take my good camera so the crappy one pooped out--all pics are on other peoples camera so I hope to see them here! But Tob said more shows to come--stay tuned!
One thing we said alot was we wish Addy and all you Oz girls were with us!

I ended up getting seated next to Rob Thomas (Matchbox 20) on my connecting flight from Minneapolis to Chicago last night. It was totally anti-climactic after the night we all had in LA.
I think I've listened to NLTH about 5000 times in the last few months and have been so lucky to be at the recent shows at the Troubadour and the Whisky. After being showered with JK brilliance, I just know that the guys are on the cusp of something huge.
Wow Jenn, Rob Thomas is anticlimactic, LMAO! Great pics too, keep em coming...

Awesome review Kel. Sounds like a fantastic weekend. I wish I could've made it. Good to hear there are more shows to come. Hopefully they'll still be around after July. Going to Vegas for a week at the end of July so that's where all my spending money is going. Or hey, even better they could do a show in Vegas any time that week! LOL.

Then it was get ready time and off to the Rainbow bar and grill for dinner--our hostess was one of the gals from Big Brother (Adams season--the one who dated James with the potty mouth--whats her name?) and Pizza for dinner.
Finally to the Whiskey, met up with Jenn L, Anna, Kelley Mullis, Kim B, Rose and the usual suspects. Couldnt believe the Nelson brothers were opening the show--80's flashback completely!
Priceless moment for me: Steph, Kim B and I were upstairs on the balcony watching Kim S meet Toby for the first time and get her pic. It was awesome seeing that from afar. Chris from RSSN was there too talking to his friend Toby--a reunion of sorts. Dale greeted us all and gave hugs upstairs as Kim told you. We headed downstairs to get a spot to see Paperback Hero. Toby came up and gave us hugs--great to see him--he is such a sweet guy! Then it was time for Paperback Hero who put on a rocking show.
As soon as they ended, the entire street team girls pretty much made it up front for front row for Juke. What an amazing show. Never once have I been sung too by Toby but during the opening song My Baby he grabbed my hand and looked into my eyes and sang to me straight away for what seemed like forever. I dont want him to know it made me a puddle of goo but it did and was appropriately blushing the whole time.
What a ridic rocking show they put on. The keyboards, the guitar changes, Toby's interaction in the crowd, seeing him sit on the stage with legs dangling right in front of Kim and Jenn--well I thought Kim would faint but she did good lol. This guy put Toby on his shoulders and he had to be half as tall as Toby--he held him up for a long time but I am not sure how lol
It was over way too fast and the show was so good. I didnt meet Harvey but finally saw who he was and let me just say it gives me tingles to know that their manager believes in them so much--he was rocking out the whole time. Awesome. Steph made sure to go grab the set list for Kim to take home after they finished.
Then we hung to say our goodbyes and chat a bit and Kim got Toby to do the group photos so that was fun. Steph and I were pushing Kim to get up there and say her goodbyes. For one they were gonna have to leave and for 2 we didnt want to overstay our welcome with them since they get so bombarded and are so overly generous with their time. Then it was hugs good bye to the guys and and we made out happy and tired and glowing. I cant wait to see the gals and Juke and do it all again! I didnt take my good camera so the crappy one pooped out--all pics are on other peoples camera so I hope to see them here! But Tob said more shows to come--stay tuned!
One thing we said alot was we wish Addy and all you Oz girls were with us!
I adore you girls for what you did....I'll treasure my Elvy star and your review about my other stars :pheart:

my fave part of the night.. well one of them was If Only.. they did it acoustic and Toby sat down on the stage.. RIGHT IN FRONT OF ME.. I had to try really hard not to stare at his crotch. I was basically in the middle of both legs.. if I had gotten pushed an inch I would have been wrapped in his legs.. and omg let me tell you I was soo tempted..

I miss them already and its only been 24 hrs, I just thought about how much you Oz girls must miss them and I get tears in my eyes. All I can say is those boys make me so proud, I want so much for them. I hope they set the US "On fire" for sure!

Yup. In fact it took me a couple minutes to figure out who he was. I had to google him on my phone to find some pictures and make sure they matched up! Toby giving me a proper kiss on my hand and then pulling me in for another one almost induced fainting, and standing next to him during the incredible acoustic version of If Only pretty much sealed the deal. :faint Rob Thomas not so much.

Honestly, I passed out. I had been up for almost 24 hours before the gig and just conked out on the plane. He did some reading, drank some water... I just found his twitter page and he tweets about everything, including a flight from Minneapolis to Chicago!
The PGD has started to set in. It would have been great to stick around for the gig at the Roxy tonight, but, it has been so much fun reliving the fantastic memories with all of you!

Kim.. loving your new Avi! Karl was cool with me seeing them for the first time (after me "drooling" on RSSN) but he kind of got well and truly "Over" it after the 8th time I saw them, probably due to the fact that I added a new pic to the Kitchen pinboard every time (and poor Tobes became a "Pin cushion") It is Great that your hubby was all for you going, especially the fact that you had to travel half way across te country!

Kim, I loved reading about your experience! I am so happy for you and think it was awesome of Stephanie to get the setlist for you! I'm glad you got to meet the boys and have some fantastic photos with them! I adore Todd too :) They are all wonderful guys and you can't help but love them all xo
