I've always said the same Dana I've been a Jovi fan since I was 12 and always said I was going to get a jovi tattoo but never felt comfortable about doing it, there is something about JK that keeps making me think of getting a tattoo but I don't want to do it on the spur of the moment so keep talking myself out of it.

I agree, as great as they look, I wouldn't get one either. (would not even get my husbands name, so could you imagine how well it would go down if I had a JK one) I will stick to the JK tattoos for now (Have one left)

yep i do, i got it last year, when i was in freo, i used a bit or rosies design, she let me. also i have 2 others non band related

Nikki when I got my last tatt with Nicky's name on it, people asked me why I didn't put Pete's name as well...can't do it. As much as you love your hubby/partner, you just never know what could happen...with your child, they will always be yours and they will always be there. Pete's was also asked the same thing when he got Nicky's name tattooed on his arm. lol.

When I was at the tattoo studio the other day I saw these three tiger cubs (they were pictures...there wasn't literally tiger cubs walking around...although that would have been awesome) and the first thing that came to mind was wow that would be an amazing tat for a parent...instead of just having a name actually have a symbol or a representation. I wish I had kids just so I could get those tigers haha

It's already been created....a joint effort design and one that's close to my heart. So it's not just about the name but the people I love and that they played a huge role in the creation of it. I'm just limited to young and exposable areas to put it lol

When I saw them, they were being held by the handlers...and, yeah, people were crowded around them. So cute though. You'd have to make sure you find a tiger that isn't a common drawing that everyone gets. Something different that's your own.

i have 3 - 1st was a dolphin, on my waist/hip (left hand side) 2nd was a egyptian cross on my lower back & i got my bon jovi one last year on the right hand side of my waist/hip

Oooo I heart tatt's...my next 1 will be on my calve...it will either be a pin up girl (I found this cool 1 that had the aries sign and she had little rams horns for aries hehe) or a funky mermaid!
I know a guy who has the wu tang clan symbol on his arm...hahahaha...thats what turned me off band name tatts...I was going to get the stars off the cover of silverchairs neon ballroom cd, which I think is fine as its not so obvious but could never get the actual name of the band

Adelle the shoulder is a great spot for tattoos it doesnt ummmmmmmmm how do i put it. It doesn't sag or stretch. I've had my shoulder tattoo for 15 years and its still the same as the day I had it done :)
Wow. That's dedication! I'd definately get lyrics, but not a logo. Kudos to those with the guts to do it though! Dale's look is priceless!

My uncle got a Tatt on his forearm (as all men seemed to do in the 50s and 60's) It had "Betty" on it. My Auntie's name is Betty, but she wasn't THE "Betty". When they got engaged, she made him get the Betty covered over with something else.
I have 3 Tatts and I am too scared to get another one, as much as I would like to have my boys names on one. The last one I got was 2 or 3 years ago on my ankle and it HURT! The others were done prior to having the kids.
My cousin was a Tattoo artist years ago (did my first) he tattooed his wife often and she refused to get his name tattood on her too.

Would never get hubby's name on me we actually got into a fight over it years ago as he wanted to get my name and I wouldn't let him and I told him I'd never get his name on me. He was a bit upset but........... and thats the reason why I'd never gotten a band name I think if I found something that symbolised JK like a music note or guitar or something like that maybe. I like the idea of a JK tattoo but we will see.

Nah foot didn't hurt that bad. Trust me when I say childbirth is worse lol but both pains bring so much pleasure. Except during school holidays then you just want to throttle the little buggers lol.

Hubby is in line for the next tattoo addition in our family he wants the Wales dragon but when he saw Toby had it he sulked he goes I can't get it now Ill look like I'm copying lol I said you can't help that your family hertiage is the same. He wants it all red though so it will be different but he still hasn't got it done yet!!!
I think it depends the size of the tatt on your foot and the placement. Mine didn't hurt at all but it's a small butterfly. The girl I work with just got one on her foot and it's pretty big. She said it was the worst pain she's experience and if anyone tells her they're getting a tatt on their foot, she's going to talk them out of it. lol. I also think everyone is different.
All this talk about tatts has made me want one sooner...I almost booked an appointment with the tattooist yesterday. lol. I also spent the day searching designs and may have found the perfect one with a few changes to suit me. Heehee.

Well it's kinda on the thigh...not as low as Pink and it will go up onto the hip and waist. Originally I wanted a peacock with the body on my waist and the feathers swooping down onto the hip and thigh but I found this great design of a peacock where the feathers/tail part swoop upward and I thought it would be perfect and better to have the body of the peacock on my thigh and the feathers/tail part swooping upward and finishing on my waist/lower rib cage. Showed Peter and he loves the idea. Just need to change the design abit to suit me but now that I've found the perfect one, I can't wait to get it. Last time I got mine done with a girl at a Bundoora tatt place. Pete still gets his done there but the girl has left so I'm looking at another place. The girl at my work that got one on her foot looks amazing and she got it at Eternal Instinct on St George's road...funnily enough, Pink goes there to get her tatts when she's in OZ from a guy named Giovanni. Anyway, I want to see the girl tattooist and maybe get her to do it.

My next one will be a koi fish - either on my ribs or on my shoulder. I have a tattoo on my shoulder that I really don't like anymore, and I'd love to get it cover with the koi. I'm just not too sure if it can be done with the design I've got. The great thing about the design is, if I get it on my ribs and freak out pain wise before I get it coloured (I've heard the ribs hurt ALOT!!), it won't look like shite! :gigg:
I had a brainwave this morning and I've decided that I'd love to get the quote in my sig done. I'm thinking in a really ornate font or something (as long as you can still read it of course!)

Eternal Instinct are BRILLIANT! My cousin is getting a full back piece done by Giovanni and that man is seriously a god!
Two other brilliant places in Melb are Chapel Tattoo (on Chapel St...duh) and Dynamic Tattoo on Swan st in Richmond. They're pricey and the waiting lists are about 6months long sometimes but they're just amazing artists. You definitely get what you pay for.
