WAKE UP! I want details and pics and all the goss!
Hey I'm home and my feet hurt, I have bruises all over me and I have a king size hang over :blush:
From my hazy memories of last night we had a frikkin awesome time. The guys were on fire (pardon the JK reference :gigg:). Toby was climbing speakers and was on some guys shoulders while singing going through the audience. Jaybro did a massive solo man that guy has energy to burn, I love it. Dale and Todd were having a guitar-off brilliant work. Tommy was being Tommy, he makes it look so effortless!!!
I have no idea what the set list was. But I do recall the boys sitting down for If Only (stunning!!!!!!). Decent size crowd more than the melbourne gigs have pulled and they went off.
It was great to meet Donna and Dana :) and Happy Birthday again Dana. These was a surprise appearance by Miss Paris and Muriel was also there and some guy we meet named Jaime was also from Melbourne woo hoo.
It was a fantastic night, I went to buy another copy of the cd to get signed and they had sold out great news for the boys sucky for me.
Not to many quality photos as the camera seemed to be playing up :whist: nothing to do with the operator I'm sure :gigg: will put them up asap!!

Wooooaahhh I'm back! And I'm so frickin tired my eyes are hanging out of my head!

Was an awesome show!! Toby being carried out through the crowd for TIA was sweet!
I must admit I enjoyed the Wyong and Newie gigs more, but thats just cuz I'm selfish and liked it more intimate..I had trouble seeing much at the gaelic, with no help from girls on guys shoulders and 6 foot guys trying to push in!
Set list was the same as the other 2 gigs I think...with the exception of Dale singing about being a cross dresser??!! Or was he saying something else and the shots Paris gave me made me hear differently haha
So the last 4 nights have been absolutely awesome... last night especially though was I-N-C-R-E-D-I-B-L-E!!!!!! Ridiculously incredible!
As Fee said, the boys were on fire, which they have been for the last 4 nights, but last night was something truly special & mind-blowing!! - I was so stoked that JK got to play to a PACKED crowd! & the stage at the Gaelic Club allowed Toby to entertain to his fullest extent - there was climbing of some extent involved in at least 3 songs! including a mammoth effort to scale new heights during "Save Me" at the end. - The stage also gave Jaybro a raised platform so that the whole room got to see how much of an amazing drummer he is - once again even though his drumming was brilliant the previous 3 nights, last night it looked like Jaybro gave the performance of his life - & I said to him at the after party that I think he knew how well he did, as the JK show ended with Jaybro as the last man on stage, standing up behind his drums on that huge raised platform overlooking the crowd with his fist firmly in the air raised in victory!! That in itself was so great to see & made me more proud than I already have been of these guys.
Sorry to Donna, Lauren & everyone that was trying to get me to go up the front again last night, I kinda didn't want to leave my friends but I'm actually glad I was in the middle of the room as I still had an awesome view of JK, especially for filming & it allowed me to not only capture the band but take in the crowd reaction, which to me was awesome overall. - I have a feeling the couple of times the crowd might have seemed quiet between songs, it was simply because they were awestruck & were being blown away!:flame:
(Newcastle was my "next-to-no photos/vids gig" where I was rockin' towards the front because that's how I wanted to celebrate album release day with the boys, so I wanted to capture more of the action that took place last night).
So for reasons I've mentioned in previous posts, no photos/vids from me up here YET - but hopefully soon. & if I do succeed in uploading them to my Macbook & Harvey & the boys let me share the vids with you I promise it'll be worth the wait! (With last night's performance, the only thing for me was every time I took a break from filming I thought "I should have got this too!!" - The whole night was just that amazing).
I'll try & remember the setlist - I'm more exhausted from the last few days/weeks than hung-over - last night I was pacing myself during the gig so I could survive the after-party, but then considering a beer @ the after-party cost $7.50 I didn't have too many! - FEE, thanks heaps for my beer by the way!:cheers: - (& also thanks for the JK bookmarks! LOL!!:rotf: - I so thought you were joking on Facebook the other night about those!! - As Dana was commenting on FB that night too, I showed her the bookmarks & she laughed her head off! Nice effort! Did you get to show the boys any?? I'm sure they would've love them). - Just quickly it was also great to see Bec & Paris last night & good to meet Rosie & Tracey.
So, my stab at the setlist is as follows:
My Baby
Scars - (1st time I've heard this live! Amazing! wish I got it on video!).
Then She Said
December - (the speaker-climbing started this early in the set!)
On Fire
Throw It Away - (with Toby getting right amongst the crowd)
If Only - (semi-acoustic but with full band)
What You Gonna Do / Highway
Save Me - (more climbing! - my 3 friends who were with me were at this point all watching Toby scale heights with their jaws dropping to the floor!).
I'm quite confident the above order is correct - however "Innocence" was also definitely in there somewhere in the middle of the set, my guess it was either between "On Fire" & "TIA" or just after "If Only".
Being in Sydney, there were plenty of people there for Stone Parade & Town Hall Steps, including some people standing behind my friends & I that were clearly Stone Parade fans. - Quite early on in JK's set, one of the male Stone Parade fans behind us yelled out "you guys are better than Stone Parade"!! - & as much as I've grown to love the SP boys both as a band & individuals over the last few days, I must say their fan was spot on!! (Sorry SP boys!).
My friends that came along had never heard of either Juke Kartel or Toby before & I think they were a bit scepticle that a band could be as good as I was making JK out to be. - They thought Stone Parade & Town Hall Steps were "great at what they do" but weren't fans, & I was doing my best to reassure them that they'd be impressed by JK, & I think by 2 songs in to JK's set they knew I was right! - By the end of the show, they were standing there speechless but smiling! - My friends chose not to come to the after party due to how late it already was, so I thought I'd at least take them to the merch table to meet the boys & by that point they couldn't stop saying to each band member how amazing the gig was!! (Hopefully they'll now buy the album as the stock at the gig was sold out by the time I took my friends up).
So there you have it - a hugely successful night for JK. I respect the boys too much to ever discuss anything about after-parties, etc. but what I will say is that I was glad to see them being brilliant on stage the 1st 3 nights & then taking care of themselves & conserving energy after the shows & then I was also glad they got to let their hair down a bit more after last night's huge effort. - They deserved that after-party!
Lauren, Donna, Dana, Meg, Jenny (I hope I haven't missed anyone!) - it was awesome to meet all of you, thanks for hangin' out with me over the last few days & for your help with flyers, etc. - I'm SO HAPPY the Gaelic Club was packed!! - Look forward to doing it all again in May. - Lauren, (not sure if you even post on here or read this) I hope you get to have a massive rest after your huge efforts in driving over the last few days - you are a legend, thanks for dancin' with me at the after-party - I don't think I've ever danced for so long in my life!! We must've been dancin' for at least an hour or 2 - what a great end to a great week!

I'm standing there after we came back from outside thinking damn that looks like Paris..so I went and asked Meg and it was so I take off and I was so excited I teared up hehe!

I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw Paris turn up from out of nowhere!! - It was so funny when she came to me looking for Dana so she could give her a birthday present while at the same time repeating "the boys can't know I'm here! I don't want them to see me yet!" lol!!
Mands - Toby was telling me the other night that they are gonna try & mix up the set list a bit more moving forward. The Wyong & Newcastle sets were similar to each other, but the Wollongong & Gaelic Club sets were quite different. - I can't wait to party with you all down there in May!
Danny fantastic review!! Reading it clarified some of my hazy memories lol
It really was an awesome show and I aplogise for all those I smooched I'm seeing the photo evidence and it seems I had my lips firmly planted on everyones cheek at one point or another during the night :blush::gigg:
Oh no the booksmarks I did for the school were all mummy type things I did those especially for you for a giggle lol had no intention of showing the boys they would think I was a nutter :gigg:

well what a great night it was, i dont recall much of the night, but what i do remember, it was fantatsic, the gig was fantastic as always, crowd was amazing - glad i made the trip up there, had a fantatsic time with the girls

Yes I was there! It was a last moment decision to go that I decided to keep it a secret and surprise the girls. I had some extra pay from work and thought I may as well head to Sydney and celebrate Dana's birthday with her...you only live once.
What I remember of the night:
Approaching Fee and Bec when I arrived and them looking at me blankly and in disbelief that I was there and real. lol.
Getting teary with Dana when she spotted me.
Seeing Donna and Gemma and the rest of the girls.
Having my 3 shot and Vodka/OJ with the Birthday girl...sorry Dana...I know you didn't like it but I'm so happy that I got to do it with you.
Having the iceberg shot with Fee and Bec.
Getting a pash off Fee....now you can all blame me for the pashing but Fee came over to me and kissed me!!! lol.
Fee hugging someone....Rosie perhaps...and the 2 of them falling on the floor. Haha. Can you remember that Fee?
Looking for Bec and finding her on the toilet floor not looking or feeling the best...sat and chatted to her, talked her into coming back out, got her a water and kept her on her feet so she could feel better for the JK boys (yeah this all happened before the boys went on stage).
Presenting Dana with a chocolate muffin with a candle on it and all of us singing Happy Birthday to her.
That crazy...and awesome...cowboy hat I bought Dana...lol...and the glow bracelets I bought all of us girls.
Rocking out with Gemma...I just love how she really gets into the show...oh and what spray are you talking about Gemma??

Seeing Muriel and Michael. Last year it was me and Pete at the gaelic with Muriel on her own and this year she was there with hubby and I was on my own. lol.
It was a great night and I had the best time. I was so happy to see the Sydney girls, see the Melb girls having a great time and just being able to spend the night partying with them.
Oh and the boys were brilliant as usual. lol.
Yes I tried to avoid them but knew that if I was going to be partying with the girls, they would eventually see me. lol. I didn't want to be right at the front but I didn't want to be away from the girls while the boys were playing so I slowly moved over to the side in front of the damn speakers. lol.
Thanks girls for a wonderful night. I managed to get back to the airport very early before my flight...I ended up falling asleep sitting up waiting for the time to pass by...luckily Pete called me as he woke me up, I found my phone on the side of the chair and as he was asking me about the flight times, the lady at the desk made an announcement for final boarding call!!! If Peter hadn't called me, I would've still been sleeping and missed my flight. Haha.
I only have pics of us girls so no band shots to post...sorry.

The frikkin spray you covered yourself in every time we walked outside...you know the special mango one.. yum yum!
PS I am glad to hear you made it home OK...I was worried about you missing a flight or few...
Oh...I don't remember doing that! Haha. I get it from Forever New...it's so yummy and also perfect for smelly crowds at gigs. lol.

Tripping down onto the Dancefloor at the Hi Fi!!! Fee, you and me.. need to be pissed together at Frankston or the Espy in May (I'm hoping to get to both) I will probably smooch you (cheek..lol) and tell you how much I love you! :gigg:

Oh god those stairs at Ruby's are brutal! The worst thing is that the bandroom is at the bottom of them...so you just know you're gonna stack just as the boys are coming out the door :gigg:

Here's a few pics from the Gaelic Club gig in Sydney (& a scenery one for Nikki & whoever else enjoys those!) - not many pics from this gig because I mainly have vids which will hopefully be up soon... (also sorry if I'm meant to be resizing these or something, I'm kinda learning as I go here & this has taken me long enough! lol)...:)

I'm not sure if upstairs was open to the public that night. I was considering to go up there myself for a few pics but decided to stay where I was with my friends & I couldn't see upstairs from where I was standing. - I had a great spot in the middle of the room to be able to take everything in from (& I just kept thinking to myself from that spot "this show belongs in a stadium"!!).
I did notice Toby acknowledging some people upstairs a couple of times while JK were on stage, but from the pics I've seen I think it was just the Stone Parade boys that were up there... I could be wrong though! The room was quite full downstairs.

Thanx Gemma - haha, we posted at the same time! Shows how much I can crap on when you summarised what I said in 7 words! Good onya! (once again, as I've said about the other gigs, wait til you see the vids! - the Gaelic Club ones are not as clear because I was further back, but you can definitely get the idea about the show belonging in a stadium!).

Upstairs was for VIPs lol
Harveys aunty was up there so I think alot of Toby's shout outs were to her. Also saw Aiden from Home and Away up there hehehe with Mark Furze who use to be on there too, he played support last gaelic gig...bit of useless info for u all haha
