Just received a text from one of the Aussie gals that are at the Roxy show. Trace was a JK virgin and is now converted :gigg: dammit another gorgeous girl to fight off :whist:
The boys were on for a 45 minute set and they rocked (but hey we knew they would) thats all I can get out of Trace besides the word fuck bahahahahaha

Was one of the first things I noticed (and asked about) from the First LA gig. There is so much "Ink" happening on Toby, It's a wonder we even notice!
Ah Two weeks till we see the guys back in Melbourne (Grand Prix) It seems forever since I have seen them. I know that sounds selfish as it has been only a matter of weeks!

Wow great pictures - so nice to see them when it is happening so far away. So how did the show go Steph? What did they play? How was the crowd? Some new fans - that is awesome.
Sorry for the delay....Just woke up a little while ago. Well, hubby and I made it to the Roxy at around 7:30pm...was planning on being there earlier but traffic was horrible. My task was to stand around outside to give the password to people coming to see them perform. But it looked like they weren't even asking for it. So we went inside, saw Rosie and her gang, talked a bit. I was so nervous because the Roxy was bigger then the usual places out there and to me, it was looking pretty empty. I kept praying that more people would come. I was disappointed that all the flyers we put up were taken down and that worried me even more. Slowly but surely, people started coming and I was getting a bit calmer although I prayed all throughout the show that the exec's were going to like them. Rose said that it's the reaction of people that will make a difference. So, when the show started, I put on my "rocker" shoes and bounced around and had my arm up to the beat of the drums all night. (Boy, that was a workout for me :) But it was all worth it, when Toby gave me a special hug after singing "If Only". I got half of my face dripping with Toby's sweat!!! I told my husband I am never washing my face ever again. They guys played their best and it showed tremendously. Toby's voice was spot on and of course their whole performance was envigorating.
After the show, we hung out at the venue for a bit, talked to some people and heard a lot of great comments, even from guys. The one thing I kept hearing was how much better the band sounds live than from a CD. It's true, there is so much energy when you see them live. And Todd admitted that they do sound better....they're a live band.
After a bit, we went next door to a bar and hung out to wait for the band to show up. Thanks to Rosie, I got to see Toby right away as he was entering and got a couple of big hugs. Saw the rest of the boys scattered all over in different sections of the bar.
One very drunk Australian from another band was quite an experience, I think for me and Toby. I was sitting at a bar stool, people watching, and this guy was so drunk he was just all over the place. He asked if he could get a picture with Toby and of course Toby obliged. Next thing we see, is the guy dropping his pants, full on frontal nudity......first thing I saw was Toby backing away from the guy with his hands up towards his chest, like hey no way man. I thank God I had a hoodie in hand and covered my line of sight. It was the funniest thing ever...you'd have to be there to appreciate the look on Toby's face. It was priceless.
The band decided to go to the Saddle Ranch and Toby came up and invited us to go. Unfortunately it was already after midnight and we had a 1 1/2 hour drive home, so we declined.
I am now patiently awaiting for Sat night. Although it will be a bitter sweet show knowing that it's the end.....for now.
I will post pics as soon as I get them downloaded and transfered to photobucket. It may take a while, but I'll get it here as soon as I can.

The hubby didn't take a whole lot of pics, he recorded two songs and it took up alot of the space. I'll have to get approval from management first to get the okay to post it, but before that, I need to figure out how to email it.

Great review and pics Anna and Steph. Oh Anna, the guy that dropped his pants would've been hilarious to see, poor Toby....poor you! lol. After a JK gig, we've seen a guy taking a leak in the bush next to us while we were in the Macca's drive through but he was facing us so we could see everything....lost my appetite. lol.
Dale shaved!!! :( He looked awesome with his 'chopper' mo and hubby LOVED it as well! lol.
Seeing all these pics and reading all the wonderful reviews makes me miss them even more. Can't wait for Geelong now. Only 2 weeks to go! Yay.

This picture above is funny, my husband didnt want to stand to close with us so he stood behind me.. (in the hat) ..he liked it tho, he said he kept getting his ass grabbed. hahaha
He was so tired of hearing me talk about JUKE KARTEL that he finally decided to go see them play..... he hated to admint it but actually liked them . I keep teasing him, because when he met Toby and shook his hand Toby pulled him in and hugged him.. I took a picture and keep teasing him about being a Toby lover now too...hahahah
Anyway...ladies, I have TONS of really good pics. I even have one that I think might be my ALL TIME favorite picture of Toby! We were right smack in front of Toby this show. I am just waaaaay to hungover to deal with photobucket right now, but I will later.

Welcome home Rosie!
So as an Aussie, how did the gig at the Roxy(ie Crowd etc) compare to the Aussie gigs?(being the only one here who has been to both!)
Thanks Nikki. I have to say that I was a little nervous for the guys because there weren't many there. I was relieved to see a few more filter in whe the boys came out but it was still a small crowd. The crowd were loud though. It kinda reminded me of the Bendigo gig which was the only other JK gig I have been to which had a small attendance. Both gigs were a Thursday night though so I'll be interested to see how the Torquay gig compares.
I did expect a lot more at the Roxy considering where it was but I guess it doesn't help when they don't have much time to promote the show. I wish I could have gone to the Vipper Room too but I flew out that night and I'm guessing I would have ended up divorced if I tried to stay an extra night :gigg:I met some really nice US fans and I feel very lucky that my trip coincided with at least one of their shows :)

Thanks again. It's very kind of you. I nearly died when Toby came over to me with the mic lol. I am so grateful that people have been willing to share their photos. My friends that I was there with were only able to get a photo from behind me so I appreciate the ones that you and Steph took :) I haven't been on here for a while cos I have been in the US for the past 3 weeks but I was kicking myself for not coming on the board before the show to see who was coming.
I really enjoyed seeing the guys over there. It is awesome to see how loved they are by you all too. I really hope they take off over there. We all know how much they deserve it :wub:

I have been to one "Intimate" JK gig. That was Gunnamatta Beach in Jan 2008."Grommet " surf Title. What gigs are you going to In melb/vic? Looking forward to meeting you soon. Im going to GP, Ruby's and Frankston (maybe Torquay if my friend will go who has an onsite van at Ocean Grove that I can stay the night at!)

Nikki I think you've already met Rosie the 3 road trippers were once 4 (at the hi fi gigs) Rosie is our fourth.
OOOH I so wanted to go to Gunnamatta Beach but I was torn between my two love that was the night of the only Melbourne Bon Jovi concert so Jovi won out!!
What I love is that all the Jovi girls that have willingly listened to JK or been curious to see what all the fuss we make about the boys is about are now a JK fan woo hoo every single one of them!!

wow those are amazing shots.. not sure why I didn't think to look and see if she had more after seeing those 2 other ones.. It is amazing that a picture can capture Toby's power and passion as he performs..
