Its tough finding people to go during the week. I scrambled up 3 people to go with me to the TROUBADOUR....and guess what THEY ARE OFFICIALLY NEW JUKE FANS!!! They loved them.. Now I need to find some other people to go next week!! Everyone is so tired of hearing me talk about them and I dont have anything to play for them. HAHAAHHA SOOOOOOOOON ... I cant WAIT!! Especially after hearing the new tunes. They Kick Ass!

Adelle, if you can get the flyer done for printing, I can start printing asap and the hubby and I can take out some flyers in that area on Sunday. Can you do the same as the Troubadour? 2 to a page. We live 1 1/2 away, but we'll do anything for Juke.

Anyone live in the area that would know a good spot to hand out flyers? Not familiar with the area. We never go in that area unless Juke is playing. When we did the Troubadour, only a few blocks were good to flyer....beyond a certain point, it was really not worth it. If anyone has any suggestions....I'd appreciate it.

Hollywood and Highland, coffee shops, anywhere talk them up. Tattoo Parlors anywhere, Cafes, if there are any good local shows you could stand out side a show and hand them out as well to people coming out. We see those all the time!

Tattoo Parlour's, that sounds like a Great Idea Marramarie :)
I took Joyce, Stephanie, Shari, Denise, and Janelle out around Hollywood on Sunday nite so they could see things, and I took them by Kat Von Dee's Parlour, and they left fliers there. There ARE tons of shops in Hollywood.
I also think maybe a good idea would be the colleges, Santa Monica City College, USC, UCLA, etc.

I am probably going to be talking to Diva this weekend so I will ask her.. and I will check out local LA stations. I have no idea what any of them are ,but it shouldn't be too hard to look up..

Diva does some writing for a publication but I believe it is a quarterly paper. But, maybe she knows of some on-line publications that we could hit up? She would be someone with some connections or resources.
I have no connections with anyone that would be of help. When we did the Troubadour though, we stuck flyers in the free publications and community papers. Since we didn't know if it was legal to post on light posts and stuff. We also went to some establishments that allowed us to leave a stack of flyers at their table that had newspapers and/or let us post it on their door. We also made sure to hand out one for their employee rooms.

I have some friends of friends who are in San Fransciso but have lots of family/friends in LA. Got onto them and they've armed themselves with posters (by the way Addy...that flyer is hot!) and are gonna use the next 2 days to do the rounds. Hope it helps. Does anyone one know when tickets will be on sale? I have went to TM and the Roxy website and emailed them and now answers. I think if we are handing out fliers and there is a buz, people will go to look for tickets, if you can't find a link to buy the tickets, people tend to forget to check these things.
Well, hubby and I had 400 flyers and came home with maybe 10 left. We weren't able to go Saturday night, hubby was not feeling well. So we went Sunday afternoon. It took us longer to get there and back because of traffic.....on a weekend? Hadn't planned on that. But we posted a bunch at the Roxy, was hoping to talk to someone there about the tickets too, but no one was there. We plastered them at the bus stops. Asked some stores if we could leave some at there desks or post on their doors, stores that couldn't have flyers up...we gave one for their employee rooms, put some on/in empty newspaper and magazine stands. Went to Sam Ash Guitar and they had a bulletin board, Ameoba Records also had a bulletin board and another guitar place...can't remember. And of course, I bugged everyone I could find along the way
if they would take a flyer. hee hee.
Wish we could have gone Saturday night for the night clubbers....I think that would have been more successful. Oh well. I still feel like I should have done something more, I was going to copy some more flyers, there happened to be a Kinko's there, and stop by UCLA, but the hubby was real tired and still not feeling well. (He did all the driving for all the flyer days and the gigs.....I'm not that great at driving, especially to the city and traffic) =( If I could I'd be hitting UCLA right now. Anyone live close to UCLA?
Is there any other way I can help? Besides telling all my friends to spread the word. Let me know.

Was also wondering if it would be ok with management to have a sign (large poster on a piece of wood saying something like "Juke Kartel free admission" and maybe the password if it's allowed. Hubby and I can stand at the front of the Roxy, while we're out there, we can give the password for those who came to see them.....just a thought. I really want to make sure I've done everything I can to get some peeps there.

They're not as worried about attendees to the Viper as they are the Roxy, Anna cos the Roxy is their showcase.
I spoke with Harvey too and he said you won't be able to have a poster outside warning people about the password but if you wouldn't mind telling people that would be awesome!
If you do approach anyone however it's super important that you say these words and nothing else. This protects JK from getting in the shit with the venue.
"Who are you here to see?" If they say JK then you can say, "You will need to say the password AUSTRALIA at the door for entry"
You CAN'T ask if they are there to see JK you must ask "Who" are you here to see.

They're not as worried about attendees to the Viper as they are the Roxy, Anna cos the Roxy is their showcase.
