January 19, 2007 Norfolk, Virginia
Ok, so I flew home from Florida on Thursday and drove 4 hours down to Norfolk on Friday for the show. I am for real tired, but b/c I love you all so much, I am here at the computer typing out reviews rather than sleeping…
Ok, so this venue was really impressive. It was on a college campus (Old Dominion) and looked fairly new. The management would not let us distribute our glow bracelets though. Todd was even standing right next to us and explained that the band WANTED us to pass them out, and the management still refused to let us do so. Bah! Because we had been down on the floor trying to do bracelets, we got to stand in the second row for Juke's set! I was so mad I didn't try to sneak in my camera, I would have had some awesome pictures! Dilana went on first this time, which surprised me but at least I finally got to see her set. I was not a big fan of hers when she was on the show, but her set was decent. She started with "Time After Time", then played like 3 original songs including "Supersoul" which she had done on the show. She then ended her set with "Roxanne". All in all, she wasn't that bad, especially since her set was all acoustic. It was just her and her guitarist (Christian maybe? I don't remember what his name was). Then Juke came out! The best part was Tommy who happened to be wearing eyeliner! It looked pretty good on him, though it had started to run. When we asked him about it later, he said Dilana had done it for him. The boys had a different set yet again:
Save Me
Burning Down the House
December
Throw It Away (with the acoustic part back at the beginning again)
What Ya Gonna Do?
Todd later confirmed that this would be the set they would play for the rest of the tour. Once again, the boys would be signing stuff after their set, so we rushed back up to the merchandise table. When we got up there, Dilana was still signing stuff for people. Finally Toby came out, followed by the rest of the boys. Security, however, only allowed Toby to sit at the table and sign, the rest of the boys were pushed away! I felt bad for them, but Todd just laughed and said he would rather let Toby deal with it anyways. The rest of the JK boys greeted people that were standing around watching the signing. Eddie and Dale disappeared after a bit, but Todd stood and talked to me and the other ST girls for the longest time. Todd was also handing out our postcards, he just loves those cards! Tommy posed for pictures with people and signed a few things. Poor Toby was just mobbed at the signing table, and didn't even get to say hello.
It was also at this time that we discussed the EP with Todd, which should be available by the time I go to the CT show next Saturday. Todd also said how excited they all were for the TV show pilot, as well as the tour in Australia. He also confirmed another US tour for the summer, but doesn't know who they will be playing with or what cities they will be in. I'm sure we will know more as soon as the band knows.
All in all I think this tour is working out well for the boys. People are getting to know their music, and all this exposure should be great for when the album is released (now predicted to be sometime in May?). They all seem to be really appreciative of the opportunity to play on such a large tour, but I think they much prefer the smaller venues where they can interact with their fans on a more personal level. Although it is very cool to see them up on that big stage!

The show last night was awesome! Juke Kartel was definitely the
highlight of the evening. I was so happy to meet Lori, Tina, and Anita
from the street team. We missed you, Kelley! Unfortunately, that venue
was not very street teamer friendly. However, I am sure that the audience fell in love with Juke Kartel. How could they not?

Hi ladies... As you've already heard, the show was awesome last night.
We're still in VA so I can only write a quick review , and I should be able to upload the pictures on Monday when we get back. Unfortunately
the street teamers could not hand out anything at the show. Luckily though, they weren't strict about cameras, so we got some good pics.
Dilana performed first, then Juke Kartel and then The Panic Channel. Dilana went out to sign while the boys were on, then Toby went out to
sign while Panic Channel was on. For our set, they played Save me, Burning down the house, December, Whatcha gonna do, and Throw it away.
Toby came out towards the end to sing a ballad with Lukas. And after Juke performed, Toby went out by the merchandise table signing autographs and taking pics with everyone. As always, he was really nice and chatted for a couple minutes. The rest of the guys were kind of walking around and chatting with people.
Toby said they still don't have the EP Cd, but hopefully they'll have it in about 2 weeks. And Toby and Todd both said that after this tour
ends, they're going to go home and spend time with their families, and are planning to be back in the states for a summer tour. =)

Discussing Tommy's remarks about his hair...
Lol... Thanks... I guess he's getting in touch with his feminine side...
We actually asked him if he used any product his hair to keep it calm, and he said he'd been keeping it 'all naturale'.
And that he's got to get himself a stylist to get dreds put in his hair.
On the camera policy at the show...
Lol... Yeah my friend had to stick the camera in her bra actually. So, at first while standing in line, we thought we were okay, then they
brought out the wands and she started freaking out. But the guy ran the wand over her and it didn't go off, so we were really excited.
Thanks... I have more pics but they didn't turn out. So, I'm hoping that I can fix them, b/c if so, I can post them on here later.
It was really nice meeting you too. I wish we could've talked longer but hopefully we can at another show on the next tour!!
