Amazing show! We got there first and Juke Kartel came out and me and my mate were like.....what do we do? How awkward.....lol
Toby walked off down the street and the rest of the guys went back in haha! we're such idiots.
Forgot to charge my phone so no photos from me. gah!
Out of all their songs throw it all away went off the most.
Those guys seriously make me laugh. So funny! haha.
Managed to shake Toby's hand once during "My Baby" I think it was.

The guys just keep getting better and better and better.
They frikken rocked the stage and they were having little jokes with one another and looked liked they were having the time of their lives.
Dan we lined up early as well (we were the giggling gaggle of girls at the front door :gigg:). We really wanted to be front of stage so we stood front and centre for the all performances. I'd seen Geek Love before and they were just as great last night as they were the last time. I hadn't seen the other two (I can't remember their names sorry guys :blush:) I loved the band that came on just before JK.
I am very excited to say it was my camera Toby grabbed during the show and here are his shots -
A few of my favourite moments were when Dale played guitar with his tongue and then a beer bottle :gigg: and then Tobe's stole the said beer bottle and proceeded to finish it off. Toby telling the crowd just how exactly they got December on the radio :LMAO: I just realised you kissed me with that mouth Toby I hope you gargled before the show :gigg:
The guys came out and signed stuff and took pics. They are all so down to earth and approachable. Guys don't change your music rocks, you rock and you make me very proud to be an Aussie.
Honestly I'm having a hard time doing a review as I just frikken loved the whole show.

LOL :gigg:... Karl dropped Lesley and I at a nightclub near us, I have not been there in year, I remember why now. We didn't realise what time it was coz they said they were closing at 4. Got outside at 5 am to hear the bloody birds chirping!

So I’m writing this review at the point where I still have that comforting ring in my ears, my eyes are slightly bloodshot, and I’m not quite sure just how I dragged myself to bed last night...or this morning to be more accurate. So prepare for a long read…with pics still to come
We arrived at the HiFi right on time, lined up and then headed straight to the front of the stage. We managed to plant ourselves in the first row, right in front where Tommy would be later and refused to move even an inch all night. (Which reminds me that oh my god FEE I was standing right near you and didn’t even realise :blush:! Dumbass t-shirt is well earned by me hehe. Look for the red scarf in the pic Toby took…I’m trying to seduce Todd with my eyes, can you tell? :gigg:).
Geek Love were, as usual, bloody amazing. They know how to rock the house and even got the JK boys out of their backstage hidey-hole and into the crowd to rock out along with everyone else. It became a game of spot the band member standing out on the floor trying not to draw attention to themselves (even Toby was peeking through from offstage). Famous By Association were quickly forgotten. I did feel bad for them because of all the tech issues though. (Bec, you’ll have to give us a review of the free cd you got at some point). Freestate were…well…wow. The perfect support for JK. They warmed up the crowd and I’m sure gained a lot of new fans on the way. Any band that can have someone else’s audience screaming and cheering for them deserves all the praise they can get. That and did anyone else spend the entire time staring at their guitar player? :swoon: Hot.
So after a long wait, a few people thrown out by security and a huge jump in crowd numbers the absolute stars of the night took to the stage. JK were nothing but perfection. I can’t think of a time where I have ever seen them own the stage with such passion. December went off. You could tell how excited the crowd and the band were to have the show open with their new single. Throw it Away, Save Me and My Baby were, as usual, crowd favourites with lots of hands in the air and moshing. They really are just incredible live songs. I almost died when they played If Only followed by Sleeptalker :wub:. They are the most beautiful songs and it never ceases to amaze me how much emotion you feel through Toby’s vocals. It sends shivers down my spine just thinking about it. That absolutely made my night. Sex Type Thing was a really great surprise. You could tell that the crowd were definitely feeling it and excited by the mention that the band would play more basically because they just didn’t want to leave. Amazing song.
Now to the boys…Jay was on fire with his drum solo’s, even gaining a surprised look from Toby when he just kept going…and going…and GOING. Todd’s hair flicks were working overtime even getting their own special introduction. Dale and Todd worked so well off each other, neither ever trying to gain the spotlight for themselves and feeding off each others solo’s brilliantly. Dale playing with his beer bottle was definitely a highlight. Tommy as usual was his cool self (even when almost forced to admit just what he specialises in when trying to get things done for the band). He is simply charming in his ability to play around with the other boys and still rock out to the audience (although I was in clear spitting range when he sang so it got a bit awkward there…). Toby, as usual was his killer self. My sister summed him up perfectly in saying, the difference between him and other frontmen is he demands the audience’s attention without ever being arrogant, cocky or using flashy tricks. You’re drawn to him purely because of his talent and stage presence. Now that’s a true rock star.

Well I had an amazing night as well. Not much I can say that hasn't already been said. It was great seeing the boys rock out again.
I took some pics but they're pretty much the same as everyone elses (I'm not good at taking stage shots) and most of the shots I take are before and after with my friends so I'll leave it for everyone else to post their pics.
Loved catching up with everyone and seeing the familiar faces in the crowd.
OMG Mands lol I told you I'm a dumbass when it comes to spotting people from the board LOL.
How's your neck today mine is a tad saw from staring straight up at Toby hee hee hee but that kind of pain I can handle.
Oh Famous by association "sigh" how much bad luck did he have. popping a string and the his amp not working so many times. I really felt for him. And yeah Bec hurry up and review the cd lol.
Freestate were very cool but I couldn't watch the lead singer for the first few songs lol he was making love to his mike stand and was directly in front of us so I felt like the dirty perv that I am lol. The guitarist was HOT!!

Haha I forgot about that! Yeah he was getting a little TOO into it to the point where whenever he would get close I found something very facinating to look at on the floor :gigg:. He had a great voice though. They kind of reminded me of The Butterfly Effect
We arrived late (and walking past the Hi Fi) We missed pretty much all the support acts.
I was making my way to the stage, not before falling (again) down a step at the back of the almost emtpy dance floor, landing on my arse!! Amusing a group of young guys I might add :blush: But I did land, still holding my glass, losing only a 1/4of it!
Was a brilliant Night and as usual they were nothing short of amazing! Lesley couldn't believe how much the crowd got into TIA!
All of the guys were great after the show chatting, giving sweaty hugs and signing CD's and various size boobs :gigg:

Mands your review was wonderful, what a read! Everyone's pics are awesome, was lovely seeing familiar faces.
I'm still recovering so I'll sort my stuff out soon but I have to say it was probably one of the best JK performances I have ever seen and the crowd were pumped at every song! Lots of surprises on stage that night...just loved it!

Was not a pretty sight Fee, beleive me. Then when I tried to get up my hand slid in the bit of drink I had spilt:blush:. Some girls sitting near the step were very nice (they hid their giggles :gigg: very well...lol)

I only met Mark for the first time on Sat night. I guess I just didn't recognise your coz I have only seen you Avi pic Here. Was the guy that obsessed?. I had a girl near me that almost took my eye out a few times with her hair. She was throwing her head around like crazy, (She was near you Mark, was she with you?)
Yeah there were a few crazies in the audience that night lol

I haven't been on here for ages but thought I would share my pictures and account.
It may be long because I am still so hyped up about it still.
Ok I will do my account first.
Me and my best friend got to the hi fi bar at 8 because for some reason we thought that was when it started, then checked the ticket and realised it was 8-30 so we went to some random bar to have a drink for half an hour. Getting more excited by the minute.
I enjoyed the support acts but to be honest by the time the third one came on I was starting to get so excited and impatient that I felt like I was about to burst hahaha.
Having said that I really enjoyed them even though the lead singer got a little to enthusiastic at times hahaha.
I was close to the stage; actually I think I was basically standing next to you Adelle.
As soon as Juke Kartel was on stage I was captivated. I had seen them once before but I think every show you go to you just fall in love with them and their music more, even though you didn't think it was possibly. I don't think I stopped moving from the beginning or the end, and I can't say I had a highlight through out the performance because I loved every single song and was so disappointed when it ended because I could have just watched them forever, even though I was dying for a drink.
After the show, I waited to talk to them and get them to sign my single. I only got to talk to Toby but omg I was so happy. He is just so friendly and happy to talk to you, I felt like I was melting every time he spoke to me.
We had a funny moment though because when I was getting a photo with him and my friend we went to sit on the table and it titled up when we all went on resulting in Toby, me and my friend all losing our balance and my friend and Toby both claiming it to being their fault.
Overall, I just agree with everything everyone has said and had the best night. Afterwards I was on such a high and had so many emotions running through me.
I can't wait to see them next and hope it is sooner rather than later, and their album is going to be so bloody great I can't wait.
I'll put my photos up as soon as I loaded them up on photo bucket, it is so damn slow.

No it was the girl that was right up to the stage in front of me. When Toby came over to me and stuck the mic in my face, she tried to move back and push me out of the way so she could sing in the mic...she was to the left of me when I was facing the crowd but in front of me when I was facing the stage if that makes sense??

I actually had her push me from the front and Stav push from the back to get to the mic. Got knocked around a bit...all so they could sing in the mic :shrug....Yeah I have a fear of microphones so when Toby came over to me I was petrified as to what he was going to do. lol.

You were both so kind to let me back in the position I was in beforehand (I didn't expect too get back there) :)

Of course Nikki...it was your spot...I wasn't going to take it from you. I think you'll find with most peeps at melb gigs is that they are pretty kind to let you back into your spot if you walk away. The lady next to that girl walked away to get a drink and when she came back, we let her through again. That girl that almost lost her top did manage to slowly push me out of my spot from the front of the stage...I could feel her moving more and more toward me and I ended up almost on the edge of the step so I just moved out of the way for her...I didn't care, I still had a good position.
Great photos Kristy. I have some pics of the crowd and I can see you in the background in a few of them standing on the other side of the room.

Most likely Kristy..I was wearing a black strapless top and making sure my own top wasn't falling when I was jumping up and down...don't have any boobs to keep it up. lol.
And if any of you were at the merch table when the boys were there, you probably would've seen my friend pick me up and carry me out making me look like a crazed fan getting kicked out! My group were outside waiting for me so they dared my friend to pick me up and carry me out over his shoulder. I was furious with them because I was trying to get a cd signed for Dana and I didn't get a chance to say bye to anyone.

And if any of you were at the merch table when the boys were there, you probably would've seen my friend pick me up and carry me out making me look like a crazed fan getting kicked out! My group were outside waiting for me so they dared my friend to pick me up and carry me out over his shoulder. I was furious with them because I was trying to get a cd signed for Dana and I didn't get a chance to say bye to anyone.
That's hilarious! I'm sure you got some funny looks for that haha. Did you manage to get it signed for Dana after all that??

It was such a fun night! I was standing amongst a lovely bunch of young ladies so I was lucky. They were very friendly and excited.
It was a great night for JK too because Glenn Wheatley came down to see them and was really happy with their performance so I'm told.
Ladyevs I believe I was standing basically next to you during the show. I came on after the show and was like hang on I was next to her hahahaha.

well he still has to judge the R.A.W.R day comp so get him to sign it then :)
He'll be doing that through email contact but that's cool...I'm sure I'll see him soon anyway.

Oh no Dana....don't apologise to THEM! I wanted to stay longer cos I needed to do a few things anyway...I always hang back after a show and chat to the girls and who ever else I know so I was actually FUMING when they carried me out. They thought I was just hanging around the boys being fangirly...they weren't listening to me when I was telling them that I was there for you.

Sorry to revive this thread im just laughing at the comments made about the Freestate singer and his...err...moves :swoon: The FS boys are close friends and I was excited that they got the support spot that night.
Was my first time properly seeing JK (other times i had too much to drink..) and was blown away!
I missed the support's. You weren't one of the girls by the steps down onto the dance floor that saw me miss the last step and fall on my arse??( I remember there being a girl called Lucy in the group) It certainly made a group of young guys piss themselves with laughter! LOL
