First thoughts. Simon Rand is no shadow to his brother! Beautiful voice!!
The 'rock stars' kept us waiting FOREVER before rockin the place with the newbies. The new look Save Me will be an awesome first single...can't wait.
More to come for everyone I'm sure. We're all very sleepy but had an awesome night. Enjoyed meeting the newbies and seeing the other ladies again. :)

Okay, quick review for you.
Show was amazing. Simon started the night off with a brilliant set even though he was nervous doing it. Jaded came on and rocked the Greyhound. The jugs girls did our spachelor of the year presentation which went incredibly well. Shaz should be proud of herself. Geek love followed on. Didnt get to see much of them (doing jugs stuff at the time) and after an extended wait, our awesome aussies came out. Lots of new songs, reworks of some favourites (Cant remember names or set list at this stage). Toby played the crowd and everyone responded to him. Jay did an absolutley breathtaking drum solo which had the band speechless and the crowd in a frenzy. They ended the night with the new version of Save Me which took my breath away.
Overall, I would do it again in a heartbeat. Adelle was amazed when she looked into the crowd and saw so many JK tatts on peoples arms, they were everywhere!

and ok.. enough teasing... its been over 12 hours since i got home, with being awake for 23 hours and running on only 3 hours sleep...

Unfortunately I missed out on a few songs as I ended up in the beer garden with Nadia, Yvette and Peter taking care of someone who was very ill but we got back inside to catch the rest of their set.

I think "The Closer We Get" may be the new name for falling...I think Toby mentioned that to me a while ago, but I'm old....so who knows.

Ok here are a few pics.
First off...our start to the day...at 7am, still a bit dark with Maccas brekkie:
I won't post the tatt pics as I'm not sure if the girls want me to put them up so I'll email the pics to them and they can post if they like.
So as you can see, Lana and Shaz arrived at my house around 7am to start the day. Poor Shaz had only an hour sleep on the plane so after we ate, she went upstairs and had a nap. Nadia and Yvette don't normally get up so early in the morning especially since we were up the night before until 1.30am so they also headed upstairs for a nap.
Not long later, Lana and Shaz left. Lana dropped Shaz off at the station and picked up Kel & Kristen and then met me, Nadia & Yvette at the tatt place.
It was a fun day with all us girls getting tatts and watching them all wince at the pain. It wasn't too bad at times but we got through it.
From there, Lana headed home and then did some retail therapy while the rest of us girls went back to my place to hang around until it was time for Lana to pick us up and head to the backpackers.
Got to the backpackers and met the rest of the girls with screams, squees and hugs. Went into the room to continue getting ready for the greyhound. Alcohol and Red Bull was all over the floor. The gorgeous Becca made me a Vodka/OJ while she, Lana and can't remember who else did a tequila shot in the bathroom.
Shaz, Lana, Anita and I got everything together and headed to the Greyhound. We put everything away into the boys bandroom and headed back out. Had a few drinks in the public bar with a few photos to start the night...which I think is on Lana's and Shaz's camera. Shaz and I started the night with a kissing pic...I think Shaz has that on her camera.
People started lining up and the doors opened. Went inside and had a chat to the boys that were in there. Us girls were showing off our new tatts to anyone we saw...Nicky from Jaded Season being one of them so I unzipped my pants and showed him my new tatt. As soon as he saw my son Nicky's name on my tatt, i pointed out that I tattooed HIS name on me...Lmao...so we had a photo of Nicky approving my new tatt:
Went outside to the beer garden and met with the rest of the girls that rocked up with still more to arrive. Chatting away and I see Jay standing on the other side of the beer garden...he saw me...gave me a wave and walked over to say hi. My God he looked gorgeous which of course I told him. lol. Introduced him to everyone and had a nice chat with him. He then reminded us that Simon was playing so we all jumped up and headed inside to watch catch his acouctic...I still ahven't had much sleep so my words aren't the best to describe how amazing Simon was...just read others description and you'll get the idea.

Heehee...yep. Me, Lana, Kristen, Kel and Nadia got tatts in the morning.
I was originally going to have it done on my ankle with the same concept but changed my mind which I'm glad I did...I thought if I'm going to be showing anyone my tatt at the gig, I'd rather unzip my pants than my boots to show them. Hahaha...no I was in doubt about the ankle because I have a tatt on my foot so I decided the hip would be nicer.

Aside from looking stoned in all of those pics, i had some prety awesome moments last night.
I dont know if anyone noticed...but:
After my baby, toby stepped to the front of the stage, raised his hand and gave me a massive hi5.
Then before firesign (one of the songs i got to hear on wednesday) toby yelled "this is a new version of an old song, and only my dad and this kid right here have heard it" - Pointing at me!
AND THEN...at the end of sublime truth, toby came to the front of the stage again...opened a mini-bottle of jagermister and poured it into my mouth.
Prety lame, but IT WAS PRETY FUKIN AWESOME FOR ME! And that jager got me going for the rest of the gig.
Sweet pics too guys, theyre prety professional looking.
Nice meeting all of you, or seeing all of you again.
Especially nikkiD...just randomly walked up, slapped a JK tat on me mid conversation and then realised who i was LOL.
And Paris, GOD WE CAN BOTH TALK ON AND ON AND ON LOL...

and am I the only one noticing how there seems to be a FIRE (!!) or at the very least a copious amount of smoke emitting from the area around Tommy's groin...in just about every picture....?? :) Not to mention the fireworks coming from behind Todd in a spectacular shot that had me spitting my drink all over the keyboard as I laughed..

Oh and the pics you girls have posted are awesome. Love the stage ones of us Jugs girls...thank you all so much for taking pics and for cheering us on. I couldn't see the crowd from the stage with the lights in my face but I guessed you girls were down front. lol. Love you all.

Way to go on the jager Matt! ;) And I'm in awe of the ladies who got tatts... I'm a wimp, it'd never happen, you rock my world, hehe.
The show sounds like it was incredible, and you know, if you're caught up in the moment and just lovin' where you are, then it's no wonder the details get fuzzy! It means you all had a FANTASTIC, amazing time! :) I agree with you, Joyce, how great is it that this show, with the new songs, happened in Melbourne and it was sold out too? That has to be such an awesome feeling.

Ok, so after a whirlwind trip, I am finally back home. I just tried to upload my photos and my fucking computer isn't recognising the USB port for my new camera, so I cannot upload them.
I'm functioning on total 5 1/2 hours sleep in 48 hours....I'm totally totally wiped but I will endeavour to do up a review tomorrow for you all, (its now 12.24am here). I'll go to a friends house as well and upload the photos. DAMN old computers!
I CAN say however, that it was THE best live show I've ever been witness to. They totally fucking rocked the roof of the Greyhound and it was knee deep of people. It was sardine squashed and I totally loved it! I'm sure the guys did too. It was truly the best night of my 38 29 years and I know we are all so proud of them. Glen did an amazing job of organising this night and the way he helped us Jugs girls out was above and beyond. I'm glad he came second.
Adelle did a top notch job on the organisation and preparation of what us STeamers had to do and I think we all did pretty darn great! Everyone loved the tatts, they were a HUGE hit and not one person said No to getting one. I've still got mine on, I can't bring myself to wash it off!
Great job Adelle and the shoutout you got was so damned deserving! LOVE YOU GIRL.
Sorry it's short and sweet but as you all know, once I get my creative juices flowing/moistened (giggles at girls who will get that!) I'll have a review to get stuck in to.
I'm off to get some well earned sleep and some well earned sweet dreams.

Third Runner Up (and he wasn't there to accept his award so Dale did it....) was, yep...TOBY. And he made mention on stage later while performing "I came fucking third AGAIN"
Second Runner Up was Glen....
And the winner was.....*insert Lana purring like a cat into the microphone here for the drum roll* SIMON RAND!!!!!!
He was STOKED. Bobby from Geek Love came Fourth and won The Dark Horse Award.
Big huge props to Anita for making the trophies. They looked truly amazing and I'm so sorry I forgot to thank you on stage Anita. I love you. Special mention to Nev and Donna for helping with our gorgeous bouquets. If it wasn't for you 2, we wouldn't have got them done in time or looking so fantastic. The winners just LOVED them!

it was totally an amazing night...
im not a good storyteller, and the whole night is kinda a blur and went really quickly for me, so here we go!!!
As you can see from paris' photo after a really bad day at work on thursday, three hours of sleep, a waterfight with a spider in the shower, ran late to pick up shaz from the airport, buying maccas breakfast, the alcohol shop being closed, we finally made it to paris' for breakfast... when the giris went upstairs for a nap, paris straightened my hair and then i took shaz to the station. While waiting for the train, Kristen arived and we chatted until kel arrive on the next train... shaz, i forgot to ask why you dont like trains!!! we then proceeded to the tattoo place to get inked up.
I was first, and was in a little bit of pain at some parts... paz, as long as i dont have a huge double chin or look feral, you can post the pics of my tatt getting done. stayed for nadia to get her's done and left before paris to go home and have a nap, which didnt happen, i needed to exchange a few things and ended up doing some retail therapy which actually woke me up, got home, got ready, and ran very very late, picked up paris, and headed into the backpackers.
paris described it perfectly, alcohol on the floor, and had a tequila shot in the bathroom, really still impressed with the scissors to cut the lemon girls, but you should have told me to bring salt!!!! got all glittered by shaz, and carried a bunch of stuff to the car and drove upto the greyhound.
Walked in, jaded were doing soundcheck and I heard a little "throw it away" guitar solo as we walked through... and then were quickly ushered back out. We went into the main bar, had a jb and bacardi, took photos of paris and shaz kissing (lol) and headed outside and met mikey and Denise also was there, so we went back into the main bar for another drink. The doors opened and we headed inside... can i mention how much i dont like UV lights... i looked like a phucking oompa loompa, orange face and green hair!!!! said hello to a bunch of people as everyone started to arrive.
Simon started playing and OMG (shaz im going to use your word) MOIST! he was absolutely incredible... blew me away... during simons break i collected some tattoo's from adelle and i have to say, i have never touched so many boobs in all my life!!! (and apologies to Lee for not tattooing him!!) i began to get awefully overwhelmed and omg, i cant remember who took over from me, im thinking Kerryn??? I saw Todd, Dale, Tommy and had a quick hello, and then saw jay, i just could not stop hugging him, he is totally adoreable... i think it was paris who finally told me to get off him...
Jaded Season were up next and whilst getting some shots I was roughly dragged by paris into the bandroom to collect the goodies for the awards... we waited patiently to the side... all excited and nervous.... we headed onto the stage with lots of cheers... shaz was on the mic and made the announcement that we are now joined with the Breast Cancer Network Australia (an organisation run by breast cancer survivors and raises money towards treatments and looking after the women who have breast cancer now, rather than for reasearch that the NBCF handle... see our page shortly for more details). shaz went to announce the first award, the third place, and asked mark from geek love to do a drumroll, but he was stickless... so shaz proceeded. the winner is TOBY RAND! accepting for toby rand is dale winters! Dale happily accepted the award and bouquet of condoms and mini alcohol for Toby, next, Second Place... the man of the night GLEN STOKES! and now the first place, which i thought deserved something special so, seems there were still no drumsticks in place, decided to do vocally drumroll for the winner SIMON RAND! he thanked boobs and was really excited, anounced the Dark Horse award to BOBBY of geeklove (who came 5th by .4 of a percent) we headed out back for some photos and and then back into the main room to get ready to see Geek Perform.
Which we didnt get to see because that was the time for the meet and greet and we scowered (sp) the building trying to find Mel... found her and took her out the back... (mel... insert story here) whilst backstage we had a few photos for the jugs website and the boys loved my rumballs (the doodle shaped were the biggest hit i think) and then headed out to to let the boys get ready and we got ready for the show. (somewhere during the night, i cant remember which part, jay went walk where Anita and paris were changing and quickly changed directions after seeing them in their bra's... total Jug moment being topless in a bandroom... anita, you didnt dissapoint!!! and shaz, for once it wasnt us!!!!)
My feet were absolutely killing me and standing for half an hour or so waitng for the boys to start was just agony. the boys started and they were just fantastic... me and michelle started the set in the centre a few rows back.... moved a little further over, then somehow was told by the videographer to get up on the speaker, took some more pics, then we switched (he hopped up and i hoped down)... the boys just totally rocked and were just... im speachless... omg! i only recall one balad, being if only, but was that what toby sang whilst playing accoustic guitar? help? Toby also made mention of coming third AGAIN and congratulated simon on winning. Oh and the girl from Singapore, she was a fan of toby on rockstar and flew all the way to melbourne especially for the gig, so toby got her up during throw it away.
I have to say OMG to jay's drum solo, it went for ages and absolutely blew me the phuck away! omg omg ong omg omg omg omg omg omg omg omg omg thud!!!
they finished the final song and me and mish headed over to where my friends were and on the way saw simon, the boys came out for their oncore, and I was once again pulled away and dragged into the moshpit and bounced and yelled and enjoyed SAVE ME rocking with simon!! kristen, im sure you took pics... can you make sure theyre ok and dont look too "bad" lol! have to say that was a total highlight for me... however, i didnt know the new version and was loudly singing all the words wrong!!! total embarrassment!
the boys finished we headed back to collect our stuff, showed Bobby from Geek my fingernail, which had the Geeklove symbol on it and he absolutely went nuts and called cam and mark over for a look (i had jk, jaded, geek, jnom and jez all on my nails)... we left there and headed out to the car and waited for a bit and headed to the vineyard for after party drinks. (can i mention that by now my feet were on FIRE and it was damn cold... i was breathing smoke!!!!) I made myself at home at the vineyard, sitting on a couch in the foyer... chatting to a few girls, and cooling down my feet, and left at about 3am...
said goodbye to all the girls... (which i have to apologise for not being anywhere with you... i dont even think i was in my own body).

I just have to put a quick thankyou to everyone who has helped us out at J4J. It means a lot, and thanks to harvey for allowing us to have the M&G auction and for the time we had with the boys for our little organisation. oxoxo.
It's tough always being last to this thread but I only arrived home early hours this morning so
I'm not organised with a review as yet but I wanted to pop in and mention just how amazed I was with the street teaming on the night. Fantastic effort, pat yourself on the back if you had a hand in applying all those tatts! I was really stoked to see a mass of JK tattooed arms waving in the air.
Denise, Donna and Nikki , Kel? and anyone I may have missed thanks so much for helping hand out the flyers at the end of the night....they and the mini postcards were a hit too. Harvey and the boys were so happy with the job done, they were totally impressed!
And Donna thanks babe for holding down the merch stand for Amanda....you're tops hunny and I hate that you lost your camera...I scoured the Greyhound for it yesterday during pack down, but sadly no sign of it.
I'll save the fine details for the review but Kelley is right, "Falling" is "The Closer We Get" It's not drastically changed lyrically but there are a few words here and there altered. What I noticed was the undertone was subtle but deeper, Tommy's bass more prevalent and the tempo heightened towards the end. I loved it as I loved all of the songs.
One in particular was really special, Smoking Gun.
Just before they played it Toby said, "This is for our street team girls." Our gorgeous man dedicated the song to all of us. Love him so much!
I was right far back from the stage for alot longer than I expected but I did see the Spach presentation and I was so proud of how you presented yourself up there with the speech Shaz, you're such a natural and the guys loved it! I was too busy to get away to see the trophies but I saw a pic of them and they looked great, Anita.
I was working the door and what was to be a short job became pretty time consuming for the majority of the night so I'm sorry I didn't get to see much of anyone at the Greyhound but I was pretty much stuck there; thank goodness I'd organised the merch earlier and you ladies distributed them so efficiently.
Oh and you girls who came to break the monotony and chat with me or grab me a beer I love yas for caring.
I'll be back with a review once I get to it but awesome awesome pics already up! Love them!

I'm not organised with a review as yet but I wanted to pop in and mention just how amazed I was with the street teaming on the night. Fantastic effort, pat yourself on the back if you had a hand in applying all those tatts! I was really stoked to see a mass of JK tattooed arms waving in the air.
Denise, Donna and Nikki , Kel? and anyone I may have missed thanks so much for helping hand out the flyers at the end of the night....they and the mini postcards were a hit too. Harvey and the boys were so happy with the job done, they were totally impressed!
I'll save the fine details for the review but to answer the question, you were right, Kelley. Falling is "The Closer We Get" It's not drastically changed lyrically but there are a few words here and there altered. What I noticed was the undertone was subtle but deeper, Tommy's bass more prevalent and the tempo heightened towards the end. I loved it as I loved all of the songs.
One in particular was really special, Smoking Gun.
Just before they played it Toby said, "This is for our street team girls." Our gorgeous man dedicated the song to all of us. Love him so much!
I was right far back from the stage for alot longer than I expected but I did see the Spach presentation and I was so proud of how you presented yourself up there with the speech Shaz, you're such a natural and the guys loved it! I was too busy to get away to see the trophies but I saw a pic of them and they looked great, Anita.
I was working the door and what was to be a short job became pretty time consuming for the majority of the night so I'm sorry I didn't get to see much of anyone at the Greyhound but I was pretty much stuck there; thank goodness I'd organised the merch earlier and you ladies distributed them so efficiently.
Oh and you girls who came to break the monotony for me and grab me a beer I love yas for caring.
I'll be back with a review once I get to it but awesome awesome pics already up! Love them!

Aside from looking stoned in all of those pics, i had some prety awesome moments last night.
I dont know if anyone noticed...but:
After my baby, toby stepped to the front of the stage, raised his hand and gave me a massive hi5.
Then before firesign (one of the songs i got to hear on wednesday) toby yelled "this is a new version of an old song, and only my dad and this kid right here have heard it" - Pointing at me!
AND THEN...at the end of sublime truth, toby came to the front of the stage again...opened a mini-bottle of jagermister and poured it into my mouth.
Prety lame, but IT WAS PRETY FUKIN AWESOME FOR ME! And that jager got me going for the rest of the gig.

Awww Matty you are so adorable. We just didn't stop talking huh? lol. So happy that you were there and good thing you're so tall...with all the shorties around you, you stood out in the crowd which I'm sure helped Toby acknowledge you and point you out. Lmao.
Lana and I had our little bit of excitement when Toby pulled out the mini Jager knowing that it was the bottle we gave him with the bouquet. Haha...we're so lame. Hehe.

I have to say that the tatts were a huge hit. We were all going crazy slapping them on everyone in the beer garden. We got a few of the boys in the bands. Although Lana didn't get one on Nicky's forehead, she did TRY to put one on his neck but totally fucked it up so I had to step in and help out. Sorry Lana but at least you spent a good 5 minutes touching his neck trying to get your attempt at tattooing off. Haha.
No one said no to a tatt. Everyone was very excited about them...the night was just perfect. It was a great vibe and you could just feel it through your body the atmosphere of the night.
What I noticed about the night is that everyone just mingled with everyone. You can see groups of people who had only met eachother that night chatting away as though they were old friends. It was amazing. Everyone was just so happy to be there which made it into a wonderful night.
I met a few people that night who recognised me from Facebook and Myspace. lol. Peter told me that one lady he was chatting to asked him "Is your wife named Paris?" and he replied yes and asked how she knew me and she just said that she recognised me online to which later on I joined them at the table and she introduced herself to me and proceeded to tell me about her experience with finding a lump in her breast...luckily it wasn't cancerous...but we had a deep chat about it.
What I love about these events is how you run into random people throughout the night and by the end, everyone knows everyone. lol.
I loved seeing all you girls and Matty again after only a couple of months as well as meeting a couple of you for the first time. I just wish that the night was longer because I regret not being able to spend more time with you all. It was such a blur for me, no words can describe how the night felt to me and being all over the place with having to do the Jugs stuff, spending time with Peter then spending time with my sister and Peter cousins, before i knew it, JK were on and the night was over.
Either way, I am so glad that the majority of us were there and we got to experience this amazing night together.
Love you girls...and Matty...lol...and I can't wait for our next crazy night out.
Also, huge thanks to Glen. He has been a great help with Lana, Shaz, Anita and I and very patient when we've had to rush into the bandroom a few times that night to change tops a few hundred times...lol...and organise our awards presentation. He has also been so wonderful to the OZ street teamers and would always make sure that we were looked after.
We just love him don't we girls?
You were amazing Adelle! Not only did you coordinate this event for street teaming but you also had other resposibilities that night and you did it all to perfection. I completely forgot about the matchbooks with everything happening that night but I think the girls had so much fun with the tatts anyway...they seemed to be happy to plaster tatts on all the hotties that night. Hehe.

Adelle & Shaz...just want to say anytime. You know if you need some help all you need to do is ask.
Nev & I partnered up to do the tatts. I was bag lady & asked people if they want them. Nev applied them. She was more patient than me LOL.. We managed to get Mum & Dad Rand tatted up then we had all other people asking us. We also got to put a tatt on Tim. Some other guy came up & asked for one & he wanted on his forehead. So I said for sure as long as we can take a pic & use it.. Shezzie has that pic LOL
All in all it was a good night, rushed as usual. Not enough time to meet up with everybody & I know I didnt meet everyone. One of these days it will happen. And like I said earlier the only down side was when I realised I had lost my camera.

Ok, Ive just got home...havent read anyone elses, I had to get on and put my review up while im still high from the night and running on pure adrenilin!!!! So here we go... I appologise now, it could be quiet long and long winded!!
What a way to begin what was destined to be a fantastic night!!
Upon arriving at the airport, in Queensland, all pumped and excited for the forth comming event, my dad leaves me, STILL with my bag in the back of his car.
Instantly I go into panic mode because i dont have any of my clothes!! I mean the clothes that i had organised for the night were now on the way back home. All i had was litterally the clothes that i was wearing. I began to thing. "How on earth am i going to be able to mee the guys all smelly and wearing the same clothes that i wore on a 2 hour flight from Queensland to Melbourne?"
I then called Shazza to get her to hopefully help me by arranging at least a different top (A HUGE THANKS TO SHAZZA)
Ok, tradegy avoided. At least i was going to have a clean top to wear.
The flight went by without incident. I was really tired as i only got probably a combined 4 hours sleep the night before, so i thought that the flight would be enough time for me to sleep.....nope, didnt happen. I am now so hyped up and on adrenilan, i had to listen to some JUKE!!
I arrived in Melbourne, walked outside to meet my friend, then it truly hit me!! 12 degrees celsius at 4pm!! Im not use to this cold!!!
My friend (Jarrod) then drove us to the backpackers where some of the girls already were.
Shazza and Anita met us at the front door and took us up.
The next 2 hours seemed to have flown by, got to meet alot of other s'teamers (sorry forgotten alot of names now), I then got changed into one of the tops that Shazza had organised for me.
Then it was time to finally head up to the Greyhound! By this time I am so excited and Juked up that i couldnt wait to get there.
Now inside the Greyhound, I started to take in a bit more.
Standing at the bar with my friend I begin to do a bit of solo street teaming. These two guys asked me who i was there to see. Without missing a chance, I said "Juke Kartel, really is there anyone else?" At this point, I get a sharp jab in my ribs. I spin round to see Todd. "Thanks hun. See you out there." then he disappeared into the crowd. I continued talking to these guys all about Juke. One of them had seen Toby on RSSN and the other one had never heard of them. We then parted ways, just to meet up later in the beer garden.
Still standing at the bar, Paris came up to me and lead me over to this man. It was the boys manager Harvey. NOTHING like i had imaged!! Soon after the introductions were done, I looked up to the stage, were Simon was preparing to start.
My friend and I made our way over to the stage. As soon As Simon started to play, everyone around me seemed to disappear. To me it felt like that Simon, his guitar, his great voice and I were the only ones there. Each and every note that he sung meldted my heart!! Before I knew it, his set was over.
Out to the beer garden we went, again I began chatting to other poeple out here about JK and why i am so passionate about them. I just finished this speach, when i heard clapping comming from behind me. Again to my suprise I stood there face to face with Tommy and Jay (It was my first encounter with Jay) Tommy introduced themselves to my friend and I, then said to Jay "She knows her stuff". My friend then asked Tommy if he could get a photo of Tommy, Jay and myself( Photos to come later!!) Tommy was more than happy to oblige, but Jay took abit more convincing. Once this was done, I heard Jay say to Tommy "Mate, what just happend?" to which Tommy replied "Just a fan photo".
After this we headed back in side to see Geek Love play, then back out to the beer graden after their set was finished. (Awesome talent there too)
As I had won the JUGS 4 JUKE auction, i knew that at any stage i was going to go and see the guys.
As soon as this thought entered my head, Lana and Paris materalised in front of me and told me it was time.
Into the room we went. As soon as I walked into the room, i was basically jumped on by Todd. "YAY. You're here. What you drinking? What you been doing since last time?" (Hmmm did he mean since RSSN or since our chance meeting at the bar?? I still dont know)
Todd left me in Dale's company and came back with three glasses and a bottle of champagne.
The it was photo time. Todd, then Dale. We did this then jay walked past. Todd introduced us, and Jay goes "yeh we've met. The beer garden fan." Another photo here.
Then Tommy came up and stood next to me. "Hey hun. I found you. Give me a kiss." Before I could, Tommy bent down and gave me one!!!
Toby then walked into the room. Tommy grabbed him and introduced Toby to my friend and I.
Toby: "Hey! Looking good tonight. Best I've seen here. Why hadn't we met before?"
Me: (giggle) "Thanks. Ummm.... we have met, last year"
Tommy: "oh oh oh oh. Riverside Stage, Queensland. St Paddy's day ( OMG!! I was impressed that he remembered!!)
Me: "Yeh thats it. It's been along year and a long wait."
Toby: " yeh, Long ass year. But it has all been worth it and tonight just got better. Got a camera? We need photos of us."
My friend came to my resuce. Me in my T n T sandwich!! 3 times!!!
Toby: "Ok, this one lets pout."
Tommy: "Ready, go."
Toby : "This one a really stupid face."
Tommy: " What the------------" (as he glances over to Toby)
Toby: "Now serious and loving. It's her night and her time to have us."
Tommy: "You done yet, Tobe."
Toby: " Nope not yet." He then yelled to the other guys "Guys, band photo now with my mel( Hee hee hee hee....Im now HIS Mel!!)
Up on the stair case we got organised. At this point im totally soaking up the moment and loving every second of it.
Then I flinched. 2 hands were upon my butt!!! Toby whispered loud enough for Tommy to hear. " Great isnt it?" To which Tommy replied "See I told you" (As Tommy had grabbed my butt previously in the photo we had taken out in the beer garden) After the stair case, we went back into the other room, flanked by Toby and Tommy and being followed closely by Todd, Toby walked over to these two elderly people and introduced them to me as his Ma and Pa. "She's one of our teamers."
Just after this Harvey called out that he wanted to make a speach. We stopped talking (which at this point i found hard to do!!) "Thankyou everyone. Now its time for the band to warm up. Everyone, beside the band please leave the room."
Tommy: "He doesnt mean you guys."
Todd: "Stay and have a listen."
Harvey then walked over, said something to the guys, then turned to me "Thanks Mel. It has meant alot. I'll organise some of the pics that they got done in LA to be signed and sent out to you as well." ( I hope he remembers *hint hint*)
Me: "huh? what? Oh, yeh thankyou heaps. Harvey, before I go can i PLEASE have a photo taken."
Harvey: " With who?"
Me: " you."
Harvey: " but why?"
Me : " Cause I want to."
Harvey: " Sounds good enough to me."
While in the band room, Tommy asked me if i had any questions for them. ( i hadnt really thought of any!!) I said " yeh just one. How did you come up with the name for the album?" To which Tommy replied " It's what we hope is going to happen once the album is released. Nowhere to hide." Then Toby added " It is more to do with us as a group and individuals.
With that done and said, one more round of hugs and kisses and handshakes from all the guys and an escort to the door by Tommy and Tood (Have i mentioned how welcomed and looked after I felt by Todd??), it was all over.
Feeling extremly overwhelmed (still do now!!) I went back out to the beer garden, were i sat down and began to look through my photos. These two other people walked over to my friend and asked what had just happend, to which I said " I just got to meet with Juke Kartel." Nadia got all excited "Toby Rand and his guys. You just got to meet them? Oh my God. You are so lucky." Nadia's cousin Liam came over, he was like "yeh so what?" To which Nadia and I spoke non stop about Toby and Juke Kartel.
At this point, I heard the opening few bars of "My Baby." I said "Ive got to get inside. They are on." I pushed my way tactfully through the crowd. I somehow lost my friend in the crowd, but had Liam with me. We managed to stand in the middle of the floor (sorry no perfomance shots, as Jarrod had my camera safe and sound!! GRRRRRR) There is just something about the way that Todd and Tommy play their guitars that makes me go weak at the knees.
I really love the new arrangements on the songs and loving the direction that Harvey is pointing the boys in.
Once the set had finished, I headed back out to the beer garden, where i found Jarrod and Nadia. Liam's response was priceless. "WOW. I love these guys. They are great!"
back inside, i was eyeing off the playlist. Kristen saw me and told me to go take it. I told her that i couldnt do that, so she walked over to where the play list had been stuck, pulled it down and gave it to me. (It is STILL in my pocket!!) Kristen then said "there. You didnt, I did."
From the Greyhound we walked to the Vineyard. Waiting to get in, Harvey and Tommy looked up and saw my friend and I. Harvey then said something to the security guy and in we went.
Harvey: " I had to get you 2 in. I remembered you hun from the band's room Hope you enjoyed your time and thank you again."
Me " I have and thanks heaps."
More hugs and kisses from Tommy and Harvey.
Just as Tommy, Harvey, my friend and I were getting ready to go Toby made an appearance. "Babe! Here you are (walking straight towards me) You are truly blessed and truly awesome. I just can't say it enough."
I took this chance to get more photos of Toby and I.
Toby: "where you guys off to now?"
Me: " Not sure.. Dont know."
Toby: "You should come with us, but i dont know the directions. Tommo does, but he has already gone. Next time. Hows bout aparting kiss?" Next time you wont have to wait a long ------ year to see me again. Queensland is going to ------ rock!! Gotta go. Love ya."
Then he disappeared, just as quick as he had appeared.
All in all, it was one amazing night/ early morning. A great time was had by all
Despite the sore feet, the many cuts, glasses being dropped onto my feet and the blisters, I loved it!!!
BRING ON THE SOLO TOUR!!!

Friday night was awesome!!! Due to some dramas during the week I was worried I wouldn't make it. But, managed to get myself discharged my hospital in time to have a shower and head to the gig. It was fantastic and I am so glad that I made it!!!
Great to meet some of the girls (adelle, nikki, shazz) and Matt.

Hey All,
Just dropping by with my review and a couple pics (i have more on the way).
My day started off bright and too early at the airport as Anita and I took off for another flight to Melbourne. This time we flew with Virgin (a fitting plane for Anita who was about to get her cherry popped in a massive way). On arriving at the airport we found Donna and Nev (who surprised everyone!). I left the gals and headed to Southern Cross station to meet up with Becca, Shazza, and Manda. It was all hugs and kisses and a very amusing tram ride to the hostel. Becca, Manda and I dropped our bags off and headed back into town to pick up Shezzie, before meeting Judy and Shae for lunch. We shopped for awhile b4 heading back to start getting ready.
Before going to the greyhound Becca, Shezzie, Manda and I met Judy at the Exchange Hotel where we got to say a very quick hello to Eddie and Scott. Becca presented them with their runner up goodie bags from the Jugs gals, which i am pretty sure they thoroughly enjoyed. We had time to hear an Incubus number from the boys before heading to the greyhound.
At the greyhound we were welcomed by Adelle at the doors and as we walked in we heard an amazing set from Simon. He has amazing vocals and it was a real treat to see him live.
In between Simon and Jaded Season, i met up with a melbourne band called Written In Ink, who i met through myspace and it was just amazing to meet those boys. Also in this time i think i got given some tats by Lana and tattooed a few people, by then everyone had tats in place, the people i did get to tattoo though really loved the tats and commented how excited they were to see Juke.
As the opening sounds of Jaded Season echoed out, i snagged a position towards the front of the bandroom. They played a very solid set with a couple heavier songs in between. They are an insanely talented band and i heard many people discussing their set afterwards also.
I then headed outside to get some fresh air and to socialize a bit, therefore missing the majority of Geek Love. From what i did hear they sounded really good.
Now the time had come for the band i had flown all the way from Brissie to see. As they came onto the stage the crowd went nuts as 'My Baby' begun. Juke sounded absolutely incredible. I managed to get a spot on the side of the stage right beside Todd and snagged a few pics from that position before joining the other girls to sing the night away. The new songs sounded terrific and the crowd really got involved. The highlight of the set for me was hearing 'Falling' and 'If Only', as they are my favs! The drum solo at the end of December was absolutely amazing and really displayed Jay's skills on the kit. The crowd went nuts as the familiar sound of 'Throw it Away' came through the speakers, EVERYONE around me was singing along and you could see excitement in their eyes. As the boys headed off stage the crowd sure wanted more as the room was filled with shouts, whistles and screams. Soon enough Juke graced the stage once more and we were introduced to their first single 'Save Me'. The song sounded perfect and was a great end to an amazing set.
After JK i managed to score a hug from Simon before we headed onto the Vineyard. It was an amazing night and i cannot wait for the album and another JK gig!
Thanks to all the ST for making the night as amazing as it was. Music really does have an insane power of bringing amazing friends together and thats what JK has done for us!

i'll post my review now.. Its mostly the same as Kerryns minus the WII boys.. My Day started at bout 11 when i met up with Becca at Southern Cross, After we were lookin at each other for bout 10 mins trying to figure out who we were. hehe! I arrived in Melbourne, walked outside to meet my friend, then it truly hit me!! 12 degrees celsius at 4pm!! Im not use to this cold!!!
My friend (Jarrod) then drove us to the backpackers where some of the girls already were.
Shazza and Anita met us at the front door and took us up.
The next 2 hours seemed to have flown by, got to meet alot of other s'teamers (sorry forgotten alot of names now), I then got changed into one of the tops that Shazza had organised for me.
Then it was time to finally head up to the Greyhound! By this time I am so excited and Juked up that i couldnt wait to get there.
Now inside the Greyhound, I started to take in a bit more.
Standing at the bar with my friend I begin to do a bit of solo street teaming. These two guys asked me who i was there to see. Without missing a chance, I said "Juke Kartel, really is there anyone else?" At this point, I get a sharp jab in my ribs. I spin round to see Todd. "Thanks hun. See you out there." then he disappeared into the crowd. I continued talking to these guys all about Juke. One of them had seen Toby on RSSN and the other one had never heard of them. We then parted ways, just to meet up later in the beer garden.
Still standing at the bar, Paris came up to me and lead me over to this man. It was the boys manager Harvey. NOTHING like i had imaged!! Soon after the introductions were done, I looked up to the stage, were Simon was preparing to start.
My friend and I made our way over to the stage. As soon As Simon started to play, everyone around me seemed to disappear. To me it felt like that Simon, his guitar, his great voice and I were the only ones there. Each and every note that he sung meldted my heart!! Before I knew it, his set was over.
Out to the beer garden we went, again I began chatting to other poeple out here about JK and why i am so passionate about them. I just finished this speach, when i heard clapping comming from behind me. Again to my suprise I stood there face to face with Tommy and Jay (It was my first encounter with Jay) Tommy introduced themselves to my friend and I, then said to Jay "She knows her stuff". My friend then asked Tommy if he could get a photo of Tommy, Jay and myself( Photos to come later!!) Tommy was more than happy to oblige, but Jay took abit more convincing. Once this was done, I heard Jay say to Tommy "Mate, what just happend?" to which Tommy replied "Just a fan photo".
After this we headed back in side to see Geek Love play, then back out to the beer graden after their set was finished. (Awesome talent there too)
As I had won the JUGS 4 JUKE auction, i knew that at any stage i was going to go and see the guys.
As soon as this thought entered my head, Lana and Paris materalised in front of me and told me it was time.
Into the room we went. As soon as I walked into the room, i was basically jumped on by Todd. "YAY. You're here. What you drinking? What you been doing since last time?" (Hmmm did he mean since RSSN or since our chance meeting at the bar?? I still dont know)
Todd left me in Dale's company and came back with three glasses and a bottle of champagne.
The it was photo time. Todd, then Dale. We did this then jay walked past. Todd introduced us, and Jay goes "yeh we've met. The beer garden fan." Another photo here.
Then Tommy came up and stood next to me. "Hey hun. I found you. Give me a kiss." Before I could, Tommy bent down and gave me one!!!
Toby then walked into the room. Tommy grabbed him and introduced Toby to my friend and I.
Toby: "Hey! Looking good tonight. Best I've seen here. Why hadn't we met before?"
Me: (giggle) "Thanks. Ummm.... we have met, last year"
Tommy: "oh oh oh oh. Riverside Stage, Queensland. St Paddy's day ( OMG!! I was impressed that he remembered!!)
Me: "Yeh thats it. It's been along year and a long wait."
Toby: " yeh, Long ass year. But it has all been worth it and tonight just got better. Got a camera? We need photos of us."
My friend came to my resuce. Me in my T n T sandwich!! 3 times!!!
Toby: "Ok, this one lets pout."
Tommy: "Ready, go."
Toby : "This one a really stupid face."
Tommy: " What the------------" (as he glances over to Toby)
Toby: "Now serious and loving. It's her night and her time to have us."
Tommy: "You done yet, Tobe."
Toby: " Nope not yet." He then yelled to the other guys "Guys, band photo now with my mel( Hee hee hee hee....Im now HIS Mel!!)
Up on the stair case we got organised. At this point im totally soaking up the moment and loving every second of it.
Then I flinched. 2 hands were upon my butt!!! Toby whispered loud enough for Tommy to hear. " Great isnt it?" To which Tommy replied "See I told you" (As Tommy had grabbed my butt previously in the photo we had taken out in the beer garden) After the stair case, we went back into the other room, flanked by Toby and Tommy and being followed closely by Todd, Toby walked over to these two elderly people and introduced them to me as his Ma and Pa. "She's one of our teamers."
Just after this Harvey called out that he wanted to make a speach. We stopped talking (which at this point i found hard to do!!) "Thankyou everyone. Now its time for the band to warm up. Everyone, beside the band please leave the room."
Tommy: "He doesnt mean you guys."
Todd: "Stay and have a listen."
Harvey then walked over, said something to the guys, then turned to me "Thanks Mel. It has meant alot. I'll organise some of the pics that they got done in LA to be signed and sent out to you as well." ( I hope he remembers *hint hint*)
Me: "huh? what? Oh, yeh thankyou heaps. Harvey, before I go can i PLEASE have a photo taken."
Harvey: " With who?"
Me: " you."
Harvey: " but why?"
Me : " Cause I want to."
Harvey: " Sounds good enough to me."
While in the band room, Tommy asked me if i had any questions for them. ( i hadnt really thought of any!!) I said " yeh just one. How did you come up with the name for the album?" To which Tommy replied " It's what we hope is going to happen once the album is released. Nowhere to hide." Then Toby added " It is more to do with us as a group and individuals.
With that done and said, one more round of hugs and kisses and handshakes from all the guys and an escort to the door by Tommy and Tood (Have i mentioned how welcomed and looked after I felt by Todd??), it was all over.
Feeling extremly overwhelmed (still do now!!) I went back out to the beer garden, were i sat down and began to look through my photos. These two other people walked over to my friend and asked what had just happend, to which I said " I just got to meet with Juke Kartel." Nadia got all excited "Toby Rand and his guys. You just got to meet them? Oh my God. You are so lucky." Nadia's cousin Liam came over, he was like "yeh so what?" To which Nadia and I spoke non stop about Toby and Juke Kartel.
At this point, I heard the opening few bars of "My Baby." I said "Ive got to get inside. They are on." I pushed my way tactfully through the crowd. I somehow lost my friend in the crowd, but had Liam with me. We managed to stand in the middle of the floor (sorry no perfomance shots, as Jarrod had my camera safe and sound!! GRRRRRR) There is just something about the way that Todd and Tommy play their guitars that makes me go weak at the knees.
I really love the new arrangements on the songs and loving the direction that Harvey is pointing the boys in.
Once the set had finished, I headed back out to the beer garden, where i found Jarrod and Nadia. Liam's response was priceless. "WOW. I love these guys. They are great!"
back inside, i was eyeing off the playlist. Kristen saw me and told me to go take it. I told her that i couldnt do that, so she walked over to where the play list had been stuck, pulled it down and gave it to me. (It is STILL in my pocket!!) Kristen then said "there. You didnt, I did."
From the Greyhound we walked to the Vineyard. Waiting to get in, Harvey and Tommy looked up and saw my friend and I. Harvey then said something to the security guy and in we went.
Harvey: " I had to get you 2 in. I remembered you hun from the band's room Hope you enjoyed your time and thank you again."
Me " I have and thanks heaps."
More hugs and kisses from Tommy and Harvey.
Just as Tommy, Harvey, my friend and I were getting ready to go Toby made an appearance. "Babe! Here you are (walking straight towards me) You are truly blessed and truly awesome. I just can't say it enough."
I took this chance to get more photos of Toby and I.
Toby: "where you guys off to now?"
Me: " Not sure.. Dont know."
Toby: "You should come with us, but i dont know the directions. Tommo does, but he has already gone. Next time. Hows bout aparting kiss?" Next time you wont have to wait a long ------ year to see me again. Queensland is going to ------ rock!! Gotta go. Love ya."
Then he disappeared, just as quick as he had appeared.
All in all, it was one amazing night/ early morning. A great time was had by all
Despite the sore feet, the many cuts, glasses being dropped onto my feet and the blisters, I loved it!!!

I'm sure Adelle has already taken care of this (and obviously Toby noticed and shouted out to you girls!)..but THANK YOU to all of you who took the time to street team this show. It did not go unnoticed by management either. I personally am so thrilled with how this turned out and special shout out to Adelle who worked so hard and did a a perfect job!
I see so many tattoo's on everyone..it does my heart good. And the pictures? THANK YOU SO MUCH. Its been so long since we've (the Americans and Canadians) seen them...all we have is your words and photos from across the world. And it is appreciated more than you know. The only way to keep this forum thriving and to entice new fans to become a member of the teams is to do this sort of thing. So, you are doing the best possible work for the band.

Beware, it’s very long!
I’m starting from the beginning and I know you are all here to read about Juke but the events leading up to the show make it all that more special for me.
So, my plane is delayed an hour and I was already at the airport 2 hours before my flight (thanks to my gorgeous friend Fay). I whiled away some time on the airport internet computers. Finally boarded at 12.20pm instead of 11.30pm! Pretty uneventful flight and I thought I might catch some zzzzz’s but I had too much adrenaline going through me so I think I caught about an hour all up….touched down in Melbourne, got my baggage and walked outside to meet my beautiful Lana who had sacrificed her sleep to come get me so early! LOVE YOU LANA. I walked outside and I swear to god if I had a dick it would have shriveled up and gone into hibernation in my stomach….it was 5 degrees and soooo cold. Lana pulls up and I jumped into her warm as toast car. I was so glad to be in Melbs! We drove to Macca’s to get some breaky and were picking up for Paris and her brood as well……we went to a bottle shop to get some champers to go with our breakfast but it was shut! Blasphemy! We got to Paris’s about 7am I think, caught up with Paris’ cousins Yvette and Nadia, ate, chat laughed at gorgeous little Nicky. Paris was going to straighten Lana’s hair so whilst that was happening, I thought I would try again to catch some zzzzz’s. Paris made me up a bed and I fell asleep instantly. It seemed like 10 mins later when Lana walked in did a chakra balancing on me, I felt so light and awesome after that. Fell back asleep and all too soon I had to get up and make my way to the backpackers to meet up with my sister. We drove to a juice shop so Lana could show me the hot juice guy but it was shut too! I think the liquid gods were frowning upon us that day!!!! So Lana dropped me off at Reservoir Station to catch the train to the city and we met up with Kristen. Lana was taking her and Kel to get a tatt. Got off and met up with Becca and Manda….I finally got to meet Manda! She’s totally totally awesome!!!!! Kerryn then came along and we jumped on a tram and I was introduced to
Falalala-fon-sing-yon-gggglllrrrr. He is awesome! I miss him.
We made it to the Backpackers, put our stuff in, met up with my sister who kindly came in to catch up for lunch, went to a gorgeous Italian Restaurant and had a lovely meal. Went to pick up the platter we had organized for Mels Meet and Greet and went back to the Backpackers where I had one of a few beautiful moments of my day……Walking towards us was Anita and Donna and a third person. When I realized it was Nev (took a few seconds to sink in) I let out a scream of sorts and ran and gave her a big hug. Not 10 mins before I’d had a text from her asking me to ring her when December was on so she could hear it. Sneaky minx. It was a beautiful surprise and I was so glad she was there. They girls were off to lunch so I thought I might grab some zzzzz’s again . Went into the room and the ‘housekeepers’ were there, doing up the room. I layed down and they left about 5 mins later. Then, 5 mins later there was a knock on the door ‘housekeeping’ and I yelled back ‘you were just here, you did this room up already’ and she said ‘we didn’t vacumm’ I was nearly gonna tell her where to shove her vacumm cleaner but I’m not a mean girl hee heeee. I gave up on sleep and the girls came back with their subway and we promptly got into making the bouquets. I’ll say again, thank god Nev and Donna were there to help Anita and I make them. Our creative juices had flown down that great river of nowhere and we were clueless as to how to arrange them. Nev was so artistic and had it all down pat. Thanks to Donna for her help with twirling the pipecleaners and sticking on the condoms! LMAO! Yep, our bouquets for the winners of the Spachelor of the Year were made out of condoms (Still in their packets). We had all blue ones for the first prize winner, All Red for the second and all yellow for the third, with some pink mixed in and Green as the background. We also included a mini bottle of Jager, Jack Daniels and Jim Beam, intricately held with wire (thanks again to Nevs brain for keeping my ones secure!) , some mints in packets with boob comments on them and also an envelope with a donated prize in there….first place was a $75 bar tab at the Backpackers. Second was a $50.00 bar tab from the Vineyard and third was a massage from Shezzie.
Finally finished up, got ready, head into the Greyhound with all our stuff (4 of us with our hands absolutely CHOCKERS with stuff). Glen was so rushed off his feet so he showed us where to put our things for later on and we went to the bar next door to get some dutch courage happening! We met up with Mikey and had a couple of rounds of bevies before we headed back to stand in line to get in line. Finally got to see my Adelle and she stamped my boobie with the entry stamp Not long after, Simon was on stage to perform for us and can I just say right now….Oh. My. GOD! His voice, dear reader, his voice is pure magic. From the first note I was mesmerized, totally lost in the sound coming from that stage……remember the name Jonny No Mercy. They are going to be fucking HUGE in a few months. HUGE. I didn’t want his set to end but end it did and he left the stage. WOW. Next up were Jaded Season and dear lord, what is it they put in the water in Melbourne and why isn’t it bottled so it can be given to other states!!!! ??? These boys just totally totally rocked the joint. I think my jaw was dropped for the time I saw them! Awesome work fellas and I really look forward to hearing more of your stuff, SOON! Love Jaded!!!! So Jaded finished it was the Jugs girls time to shine and get their 15 mins of fame We got our stuff ready to the side of the stage and Glen got a mic and a spotlight set up for us, told us we had 5 mins and ushered us up to the stage….I was immediately struck by the spotlight and could only see a sea of heads, not the faces. We got cheers from our beautiful girls who we had asked to stay up the front and why I said shut up (jokingly) I don’t know!! Fuckwit I am, nerves I guess. So we went into our spiel, announced all our winners and had a bloody ball up on that stage…..We said who the winners were in previous posts but if you don’t want to go back to read…they were…
The Black Horse Award – Bobby Manila of Geek Love
Third Runner up – The Ladle of Love – was Toby. He wasn’t there to accept the award but Dale did on his behalf. HILARIOUS!
Second Runner up – Most Forkable – Was Glen Stokes.
And the Spachelor of the Year was Simon Rand. I really can’t remember what he said because I was awestruck that he was there with his arm around me and I remember him mentioning boobs and that’s it. We thanked who we had to I still feel like a tool for not thanking Anita for her amazing trophies she made, and to Nev and Donna for their help and to everyone that had bought a jugs top and donated to us in the pass. I’m so sorry Nerves again.
So we left the stage and I was so damned euphoric when I stepped down. Oh my god, it was such an amazing feeling! Geek Love were up next and I was privy to more some awesome fucking music when I was ushered to the band room for Mels Meet and Greet…..I walked and the first person I saw was Toby. He had something in his arms but he saw me, put whatever it was that was in his arms on the lounge, yells out ‘Shazzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzza’ and runs over and envelopes me a huge hug. Oh it was just so beautiful and it was my second beautiful moment of the day. I’m always stunned he remembers who I am, I don’t know why. We had a chat and then we left Mel and her friend Jarrod to their Meet and Greet and I’m so glad I got to read Mels review. I was so happy and stoked for the special time they got!!!!! Next up it was our turn for our Jugs for Juke official photos to be taken. We were finally ALL together to get one, so we positioned ourselves on a stairwell, Toby sat on the end ballistrade and asked if I wanted to stand in between his legs! Hee heee, of course I jumped at the chance. So he hoicks his leg up over my shoulder and we got some photos….and then, and I don’t know why I did it, I can’t blame nerves this time, I said to Toby, ‘give me your hand’ so he did and I grabbed it and smack bang put it centre of my breast! And held it there, although there was no resistance, hee heeeee. We took a couple of shots like that and I think it was then I realized it was Pa Rand standing with Mel and Jarrod taking photos and there I was with his sons hand on my tit!!!!!! I quickly moved my position after that and stood next to Tommy….oh gosh. Idiot! There are some photo’s I’ll chuck up here later of that moment. It’s one I won’t forget in a hurry…….so we finished up there, went back into the band room and I said to Toby ‘would it be ok to get a picture with just you?’ and he said ‘of course babe’. His eyes land on the chaise lounge, so he told me to sit on it, so I sit. Then he said to drape myself on it, so I drape, then he says ‘hang on’ runs to the fruit platter, grabs some grapes, stands behind me and over me with the grapes and feeds them to me. With his hand on my boob again. This time, that was his choice and he got no resistance from me. Yep, got a photo of that one too, again of which I’ll put in the Jugs thread later. We got ushered out of the room so they could get ready for their time to shine…..I gave Toby a hug and said I’d see him later at the Vineyard for that birthday drink….he said ‘15th of May right?” and I got all teary eyed that he remembered my birthday date and I hugged him and thanked him for remembering.
So Anita and I made ourselves to the front-ish part of the stage. After about 45 mins they finally came out, amid smoke and an amazing light show……the first song was My Baby and I’d heard this one remade already and loved it, so I could sing along to it. WOW! Next song was Sublime Truth and I knew this was one of Anita’s favourites and loved watching her bop to it. Next song was Innocence. Awesome song. LOVED IT. Next one was Then She Said and again, bloody awesome song. We have a talented bunch of muso’s there I’m sure I don’t need to tell you! Next up was Firesign and I loved the new intro. The lyrics are all changed up but in a good way. WOW! On Fire was next and that is what my feet were….jumping around to all these great songs was taking it’s toll on my poor tootsies! Next song was The Closer we Get and I believe that’s the new Falling. It’s a wonderful wonderful remake. I love it. Toby introduced the next song and dedicated to his Street Team AND to Adelle. Anita and I both went ‘awwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww’ and I was so happy he did that for our team leader!
The acoustic guitar came out then and Toby sat for a beautiful rendition of If Only….I got huge huge goosebumps. I really love that song. Sleeptalke was next and I can tell you right now, this long awaited album is going to rock your socks off man! Seriously. I’m first in line to get that baby when it’s finally released! Next song was my most favourite-est of all, December and it was sung and performed TO. PERFECTION.
Now this is beautiful moment number 3 for me……Jaybro’s drum solo. It’s such a shame we couldn’t video this night and we have to wait to see it on the DVD because, no word of a lie, it was the most enigmatic, passionate, FUCK-ING awesome and pure genius drum solo I have ever had the privilege of hearing and seeing. I was watching the other boys faces as their band mate laid some shit on those skins and it was priceless…..they were in awe too, you could tell. I didn’t want that drum solo to end! The whole room erupted when he finished! God damn amazing. Toby then said “I want you all to sing all of the fucking words to this next song” and that all familiar intro to Throw it Away came on. The joint rocked. Quite Simply. They left the stage and of course the crowd chanted for them to come back. By this stage, my feet were almost falling off from the pain so I made my way through to the back where I could watch from the distance and watch some absolute magic in the making with the new version of Save Me, and we were told this was the first single. Oh. Yes!! If this song doesn’t propel them to the stardom they fucking deserve, I don’t know what will. It was amazing…….
So, that was the end of JK’s show. I nearly cried coz I didn’t want it to end. Our boys are gonna be so fucking big…..I know you all know that but that show clinched it for me as to how lucky all of us that had the pleasure of seeing them in an intimate of sorts environment and had the special time with them we have had , are. I’m so damned privileged to be a fan and so feel so damned to be lucky enough to be able to help out in spreading the JK word….
Thanks to everyone I was honoured to have shared this with. Special thanks to Anita Paris and Lana for paying for me to come over. If not for you, I wouldn’t have had these wonderful memories to live with forever. Love you love you love you.

The best possible birthday ever, huh Shazz? I can imagine how awesome it was. It's nice to know that we knew and loved them and supported them back before "the day"...something tells me they will never forget all of us original street teamers. Beautiful review...thanks for remembering so much about the actual performances and congrats to you, Anita, Lana and Paris for raising such a hefty sum for charity. Hope your post depression show blue aren't too bad! xx

Hey Adelle... my review would involve a husband missing the turn at St Kilda, but insisting he knew were he was going any way (but I would I just check the Melways just to be sure!!) What would normally take 45 min, took 90 min in Fri night peak hour! I made him pull over in the carpark near Albert park lake coz I was BUSTING for a "wee"
Dropping us of at Club X to meet the girls at the Backpackers (Kel and Kristen had to find us)...
Slapping tatts on ladies Boobs etc... meeting everyone and LOVING the guys!

Walking back to The Vineyard.. my feet were KILLING me.... went to maccas with Jodi, Mel and Jarrod only to wait in line for half an hour to be served cold burgers (but my order came to $6 something, gave them $7 and I was given $5 something Change?)
Ate our cold Maccas on the steps and then headed across to the Vineyard.
Told it was full, so we chatted to some of the girls over the 1 metre fence. My sore feet became unbearable so I told the bouncer I really needed to Talk to "that girl" (pointing to Kel) he asked if she was my sister.. Why I added years to my age and said "No she is my daughter and that I had to keep an eye on her". But it worked and he let us in.
Chatted to Toby inside for a bit and was "gropped" by a guy after getting a water (gave him a polite"fuck off")
4.45am I was in my nice warm bed and got up at 1pm (then got dragged out to look for bloody kittens at the Pet Shops and then I was almost sick when I was in the confined room of Kittens, Kitty Litter and cat food at the Animal Shelter!)
I had the best night and Im still ignoring the blisters on my feet!
I have to add too that all the Aust ST girls are an amazing bunch of girls! (and Matty) Everyone was so friendly and welcoming! I felt like Family as soon as I met everyone! I feel so proud now to be part of such a Fantastic group of Aussies! xoxo

Ok sorry for the delay but I'll finish off my review.
Well after Simon's set, I hung around at the bar and helped Lana and Anita with the tatts. As I said previously, Lana tried to put one of Nicky's neck but stuffed it up so I came to her rescue and applied on perfectly. Anita was putting one on Shaz's boob so we all took the opportunity and grabbed her boobs:
After that I think I headed out to the beer garden before heading back inside and realising that Jaded Season were on stage. Our Jugs presentation was on after their set so I found Glen and rounded up the girls and we took off into the bandroom to collect the trophies and bouquets to which we found that Toby had left for a moment so we asked Dale to accept his award for him...he was very excited to be part of it.
We set off to the front of the stage and on our way stopping to tell all the Spachelor contenders to make sure they remained inside for the announcement. I love how everytime we see Kit, he doesn't know who we are no matter how many times we've met him and had long convos with him, he always looks at us with a blank face. Lmao. So we told him to stay put and he just looked at us confused. lol.
We headed to the side of the stage and prepared ourselves to go on and present. It was very exciting and I don't think I was too nervous.

Third runner up Toby Rand! Loud cheers coming from the front row...I assumed it was all the ST girls...hehe.

Finally a special award went to Bobby from Geek Love which was the Dark Horse "If I was nominated earlier I would have kicked arse" award! Haha
From there, the rest of us Jugs girls set to give gift baggies to the rest of the boys that were nominated. Of course, we gave them to our crushes so I gave the gift bag to Lee:
The boys loved their gifts filled with condoms, naughty lollies & Stubbie Holder with our Jez on there.
Headed back into the bandroom to change my top...AGAIN...and had a chat with the boys that were there. Took a pic of Toby's trophie and his bouquet with Dale sticking his head in the pic:
Notice in the background what is on the end of the cue stick! Todd had a bit of fun with that. lol.
As we returned to the bar, we were about to enjoy the rest of Geek Loves set before Lana came over and informed us that Harvey and the boys were ready for the M&G. Ran around trying to find Mel and finally found her and took her and Jarrod to the bandroom. Mel has given a perfect review of her M&G so i won't get into it but the boys were wonderful to her. We will post up pics of her M&G on our Jugs page in the next few days (and Mel I will email you the pics shortly). I took photos, Lana handed out her famous rum balls with a few shaped like a penis (lana and I had a good time making those. lol) and Shaz and Anita helping out with the platter of food and drinks. Todd offered Mel a drink and Dale handed the fruit platter around. Such awesome boys and I love them dearly for being such great sports and giving Mel every bit of attention she deserved.
Group photos of Mel with the boys were taken on the stairs and then the Jugs girls finally got our complete group photos with them as well.
Had some fun moments with those boys. We took a group shot with the four of us girls and then we took some shots with Lana, Shaz and myself...the boys burst out laughing when I said that we needed some shots with the Directors. It was hilarious.
Back in the bandroom and Shaz asked Toby for a photo which ended with her on the couch being fed grapes by Toby whilst grabbing her boob. HOT pic.
I was next so I 'directed' Toby to lie on the couch and I would get on top of him...haha..well it was a great shot taken. Lana later told me that as I climbed on to him, he called me a Pornstar. nice.
Next was Lana and she called Tommy over for a shot with the both of them. Of course I wanted my TnT manwich as I've never had one so I got back in there and took another photo and then finally Anita had her first TnT manwich (what a way to lose her virginity huh?) Hehe.

Finally it was time for JK...I am really really sorry but that part was such a blur for me. I do remember many of what the girls have already mentioned...ST getting a shout out, special mention to Adelle, charging the glasses, Toby pointing out to Matty in the crowd...all of that stuff but to really get into any detail is impossible for me....it was just too surreal. I do remember TIA, If Only, Falling and I do remember getting excited when many of the songs started and singing along to them only to realise I was singing the wrong words. lol.
I missed out on a few songs as I ended up outside helping out an ill friend but managed to get back in and catch the rest of the set including seeing Toby pull Priscilla up on stage for TIA. That was awesome.
Before we knew it, it was over. Everyone made their way home or to the after party while I went back into the bandroom for the final time to collect my overnight bag and a few more photos and a chat with Toby and we were off to the Vineyard.
Had a great time at the vineyard, seeing all the girls there and catching up with a few I didn't get to see at the greyhound. It all went way to fast but it was an amazing night.
Headed home at 4am and that's it.
I must apologise for my poor wording. I'm running on only a few hours of sleep. I still haven't had any proper sleep for over a week now. lol.

If you're up for some reading go for it but I don't expect you to. It's more a record for myself. If you want to start from just about Juke go to the bolded sentence.
Doors open and excited, animated people start pouring in. I'm helping on the door this night so I'm pretty busy as the dark, warm atmosphere of the Greyhound comes to life and begins to fill with a hotpot of souls out for rocker blood.
First hour passes and already the place looks full. I scan around and wonder how on earth another few hundred are going to fit....and they keep on coming steadily.
The street team girls are doing Juke and I proud. What an inspiring bunch of people you are. Tatts are plastered from arsehole to breakfast and the Juke love is strong and prevalent.
I'm still very busy but it's all good. Simon Rand's melodic, velvet vocals are mesmersising me...distracting me from my task and I keep getting nudged by Aaron the security guy to turn my focus forward...or back, being forced away from the performance. He really epitomises beauty with his vox especially his last song. I had to fend off swooning when he crooned in closure.
Another hundred pass through and now it's Jaded Season's turn to throw me off balance. They succeed admirably with such a unique sound. I loved that the crowd were so into them and they really rocked everyone out.
I'm feeling like a celebrity at this point. So many people recognising me from online. It's pretty unsettling at times but also flattering. I'm getting so many hugs from my girls and people I don't recognise but should. Aaron stands by patiently, prolly wondering who the hell am I to be getting so much attention.
The influx eases for a moment and Aaron and I focus our attention to stagefront where Geek Love are rocking in the faces of the crowd. We talk of how great they are and how cool it is to be rocked like this while doing our work. Geek are having a crazy time and pumping up the atmosphere, tossing things into a frenzied throng of faces and devil horns. You killed it Geek.
400 souls have been clearly inked and admitted to the now seething lounge of rock and I'm becoming anxious. Anxious that I may have trouble extricating myself from the writhing serpent of people approaching the old Grey, and miss my beloved Juke.
Glen's already had my back and an angel appears.....Brad? John? No matter....he's my angel and I tell him I love him as he relieves me from the dark and desolate bowels of door-bitchdom.
I treacherously turn my back on Aaron and Vanessa as the 100 people serpent pounces and I abscond to the light of my knights, Juke Kartel.
Amazing how quickly you can slice through 400 bodies with 100 pressing at your back when your boys are about to perform. I negotiate my way to the front where my loyal sis and mate have held a place for me.
Juke hits the stage and the crowd screams uproariously as they break into My Baby and grab us from the onset.
The sound is deeper, with more rock and the guys' guitar work even more refined if that's at all possible. There's no way I can be specific with particular songs, you just can't absorb it all in that moment of excitement and expectancy. And there were so many songs!! Heaven!
Generally all of the songs are heavier and more dramatic, even the slower ones....maybe even more so.
There were some stand outs, one song I couldn't identify but it mushed up my interior!
I think, but don't bet your life on it, one line of lyrics went,
That was yesterday, It seems so far away
It reminded me a bit of Forever Young but I could be mistaken. Tommy's bass was fucking awesome and strong throughout the whole song and Toby forced you to feel the sound rather than hear it. I love it and I desperately need to hear it again!
I have a moving mass of 500 pressing at my back, surging forward as Juke break out into The Closer We Get (Falling). This has changed heaps, very different to the original but OH MY GOD! The plucking lead in this really made me feel like an Animal in the Deep Purple House Of The Rising Sun! I cannot express how fucking excited I am for the release of the album. I seriously got chills and was overwhelmed with such a sense of pride to be standing there experiencing these new sounds.
You have to open your heart and mind for the changes. Don't let your attachment to the old sounds close you off to the new. They're truly awe-inspiring!
My favourite part of the evening, those who know me will understand why. Smoking Gun. Toby sits down with his acoustic guitar and gets comfortable. He says softly yet clearly, "This is for my street team girls.....and this is for Adelle."
I was already sold on you boys, with all my heart but now you've gone and cemented my soul in Juke mortar, never to be released. Love you so much for that Toby, you kill me with your kindness and I'm overwhelmed!
Dale starts off with his high plains drifter style and I want to cry, all the beautiful memories I associate with this song come rushing back and to hear how they've perfected it just blew me away. Everything goes deathly quiet and Toby opens his lungs and sings without aid

He was clear and clean and beautiful, I had shivers and fought back tears....same as now while I type this account. The song and it's beautiful memories will be with me 'til the day I die.
I remember December. Easily recognisable but as I said earlier...with deeper tones. Was wonderful to hear it again, I love this song above most, but not all. Jay went into the most insane drum solo at the end. I seriously don't know how he sustained the power for as long as he did. He was fucking incredible! The man is a master along with his mates and I was exhausted from experiencing it!
OK another highlight....SCARS
Believe me, this is one song I would happily have Juke blow my skin off with...again. Amazing and brilliant, heavy, very high tempo in parts. Toby's vox once again miraculously breaking out over all that powerful sound! Todd was fantastic on rythmn...they were all insane! I freaking LOVED this song and I can't wait to alienate myself from my neighbours with it! I can't wait for the world to hear it!
Throw It Away as always had everyone thumping and jumping. I looked around and saw a forest of arms thrashing the air...each one plastered with a Juke Kartel tatt. How cool I thought amidst the crazy excitement.
The show was a bit of a blur by this point and I was gutted to realise it was drawing to a close. Where had it all gone? ....embedded in the seething, throbbing mass of bodies around me....pumped and wanting more!
Encore encore encore!!!
I held my breath and exhaled with relief when our boys came running out to wow us once again, this time with Save Me.
All I remember is that it's better....way better!

I was so rapt to read that as it's great to get an outsider opinion. She's never seen them perform, she was a fan of Toby when he was on RSSn but that's about it so I'm really glad she loves them. I replied apologising for not spending alot of time with them during the night and she wrote back saying it was cool and that she was in awe of JK anyway. WooHoo.

Thanks girls. I really try and make note of things during the performance but it's almost impossible. The minute I get home I get out the pen and paper and pen down points to jog my memory later.

I'm not sure if I mentioned either, how grateful and impressed I was for you girls at the end of the show who came straight to me asking for merch to hand out. Everyone helped throughout the night and it was fantastic but you ladies who gave up any chance of running into the guys afterwards....Denise, Nikki, Kel, Donna there may have been more and please correct me if there were, you really showed me your grit this night and I totally respect you for it.

I got to see Todd & Dale before the show, Jay from a distance but didn't see Tommy or Toby till they were on stage .
I was happy to be right up front looking up at Toby all night :wub:
Left the Greyhound happy but then the boys turned up at The Vineyard...
Took all my willpower to stay put & not go all fangirly when i saw Toby i can tell ya:blush:
But i ended up seeing him inside when he walked past me & saw me , I got my hugs & a chat then...

Wow it took me several hours to go through all the pictures and reviews in all 33 pages and I must say some made me cry and most made me smile, with an ache in my heart, because.. I want more!!
Okay before I continue, let me first introduce myself. I’m Priscilla, and yes, I’m the girl from Singapore.
About 2 years ago I started watching rockstar supernova and Toby’s second performance got me pretty hooked to the show. I loved his stage charisma and his amazing voice. I thought he was the best candidate because he sings awesomely well, he has the looks, and he’s so great to watch. What more could they ask for? I was rooting for him all the way because I love each and every one of his performances and I can’t help but get so endeared to his character. And when they announced that he was the next to go, I remembered crying because I wasn’t expecting it at all. And months and years later when I found myself re-watching his performances all over again and again, smiling to myself in a silly manner behind the computer screen, I knew I have fallen into the Toby trap. I have made myself a fan for the very first time. I mean, I do have many favourites but I don’t usually declare myself a fan or become excessively obsessed, to the extent of doing the extreme (like flying over to Melbourne to catch his gig). Honestly, I never used to like being categorized as the “screaming girls”, until Toby came into the picture, I could not care less.
It was my wildest dream to watch him perform live, to be able to experience the maximum energy level he always brings to his audience because the videos in you tube would never do him enough justice. When I finally chanced upon the notice about the gig on the 23rd, I jumped at the opportunity since it finally didn’t clash with my school or exams. I went on to email Glen to reserve the tickets and the next thing I know I was already checking out air tickets and when I realized it wasn’t an amount I could easily fork out (I’m still only a student), I decided to make the best out of it by exploring Sydney and Melbourne (and visiting my friends who stay there) and I love Aussie oh so much! I love the weather (it's summer all year round here), I love all the good food there, and most importantly, I love the people, the culture. Everyone’s so friendly, so fun-loving. Cheers to that!
So, here’s my little contribution.
I was looking forward to it so much I arrived at greyhound at around 6pm, yes I was that hyped up and partly because I was afraid of getting lost. I waited outside the bar with much anticipation with my dear friend, Giel. I kept popping my head out in the cold to check if they had finally opened the entrance door. At around 5 minutes before 7, I heard some good thudding (they were doing sound check) and decided to take a peek through the small gap of the restricted door. I think I appeared as though I was trying to pry open the door and before I realized there was a surveillance camera somewhere, someone came to the door and said “Hi! Are you here for the gig? You gotta come by the other door. “I was a little shocked so I could only muffled words like “Oh, I’m looking for Glen. I reserved the tickets…” Before I could finish, Glen welcomed me inside without hesitation and handed me my tickets. I think we was the first few to enter and we didn’t quite know what to do next. And Glen being so busy with whatever he was doing, told me to follow him at around 7.50pm. That was when I thought I was going to meet Toby! I could not be any more excited, but nope, not yet, Toby had not arrived yet. He introduced me to Harvey and we chatted quite a bit. He was so nice he told me he’d catch me to meet up with the boys after the show. I was more than happy to hear that.
Then came the opening of the awesome night. Simon Rand, who did an amazing solo on the acoustic guitar. It was so captivating it was able to soothe me a little from all the adrenaline that was rushing through me. I was so mesmerized by his voice I felt ashamed for not knowing about his music before I went for the gig.
Jaded Season and Geek love were two great bands which I have yet discovered too. By then, the room was almost fully filled and as I glanced around me, I realized that everyone seemed to know everyone else and I’m truly amazed by how everyone looked as though they were so ready to party the night away.
The prize presentation was one of the moments I nearly died because I thought I was going to see Toby for the first time when his name was announced as a second runner up. So yea, one hell of a rollercoaster ride. Especially the wait for Juke Kartel to appear on stage. My eyes were glued to the small opening of the backstage and every single time someone came through it, my heart skipped a beat. When they finally did, I was oh-so-thrilled! My baby was a great start, followed by sublime truth which I had mass listened to before I went for the gig, to ensure that I know the lyrics well. I love the part when he sat down with his acoustic guitar getting really personal and raw, dedicating the song to his street team girls and Adelle, whom I believed is someone close to his heart. I actually love this softer side of him more, although I really enjoyed every second of him rocking the entire house down. It was beyond incredible. And when he first mentioned me among the many times, I was taken aback for a few seconds, before instinctively yelling at the top of my lungs. I think everyone turned to look in my direction and probably wondered who the hell this weird Asian was and I went “whoops” immediately. But right there and then, I was happily settled for it because never in my life did I dream about him dedicating a song to me. And I love love love love love December! It’s my favouriterest I’m dying to hear it live again. The drum solo left me in absolute awe I couldn’t believe my eyes and ears, well what I felt in my heart was enough to convince me though. It was the most amazing drum solo ever!! To the point I started asking myself “Was that even achievable by human?” because it was so insanely done I didn’t want it to stop at all! Then came Throw It Away which I went absolutely crazy. I was jumping up and down, throwing my hand in the air and screaming in my worst tone ever “oh oh oh oh oh oh” when he shoved the mic towards me. He had rocked the hell out of me. The next minute he held out his hand which I grabbed so tightly, and before I could come to terms with all that was happening to me, I was already on stage, on the same stage with him, rocking out beside him, watching the same audience from his view, singing into the same microphone. That few seconds or minutes were so magical and surreal I kept asking Giel “Did that just happen or was I dreaming?“ I love how he always engages his audience by making us sing or clap along, by giving a massive hi 5 or sharing his jager or by taking valuable shots from his point of view. It’s little things like these make him so special and so fun to watch. Sigh, I’d kill to experience it all over again. The show ended perfectly with Save Me and that itself was enough to blow me away.
After the crowd slowly dispersed, I managed to catch Glen who asked me “Have you seen the boys at the backstage yet?“ When I shook my head I knew immediately he was going to make it happen for me. So we tagged along behind him to the bandroom and finally the moment I was waiting for, meeting Toby and telling him just how much I love him and his music. He gave me such a nice and warm hug I felt so welcomed and appreciated like I’ve never before. When I told him “I’ve got something for you and I need you to sign on some of these photos.” he went “Oh, before that, I’ve got something for you too.” That’s when he took out this old drum plate which has autographs of all members of the band I went “Oh my god! This can’t be true. I love it. And it’s so gonna be on my wall!“ Apparently, they knew I was coming and they had it all prepared! How sweet of them. And when I only had a black marker in hand Toby insisted “Give me a minute. I’ll get it organized. I want to use a silver pen so that you can see what I write.” How nice can he get! I had a wonderful time chatting with him, he has this ability to make me feel as though we’ve known each other for ages. It was so comfortable, so rewarding. Of course, not forgetting Todd and Tommy, who were equally lovely and hospitable. My only regret would be Dale and Jaybro, whom I didn’t get the chance to speak to, or take pictures with. And while waiting outside the hotel for our friend to fetch us, Toby appeared and showered me with more hugs and kisses before hopping on the taxi to vineyard. That man simply took my breath away. And to quote a friend, “I got more than what I dared hope for.”
In all, I was treated to a superb, magnificent and definitely the best gig in my entire life. The reason why I came, definitely gave me the reason to look forward to all his next endeavors…Toby Rand. He has the most amazing voice, but even more, his presence. Something about the look in his eyes and just all of him, and the power behind his voice, was wowwwwwwww. As you can see, I could go on and on and I hope I didn’t bore you guys it was just too phenomenal for me. I couldn’t have regretted coming at all!
Now, now that I’m back in Singapore, I’m suffering from tobe-withdrawal syndrome. help! =(
