Brefly..because we are on our way to Orlando...Show was awesome....Boys
were great. Played only 20 min., which sucked...they played Save Me,
December, Throw It Away, Whatcha Gonna Do, Highway to Hell, and one other
we can't remember....it'll come to me. They did a short meet and greet and
Toby was mobbed...not well organized...will explain more later....
After Party was thrown for everyone who attended the show, with Tommy Lee
deejaying....All the players were there....Gilby Clarke, Lukas, the Juke
Boys, Dave Navarro, Steve Isaccs, Dilana...total insanity...we crawled out
around 4am....
They announced the afterparty while SuperNova was playing and handed
out flyers. It was PACKED.
Boys are very protected on this tour, though...I did not get to see them
except during the meet and greet. So...don't get disappointed if your time
with them on this tour is really limited. They really love all our new
merch and everything we are doing.
Next update...tomorrow.
Heather and Alicia? Hope you girls are okay...you rock...we'll see you
tonight.
JK Review - January 16, 2007 - Hard Rock Live - Hollywood, Florida
Alicia and I drove down to see the show in Ft. Lauderdale (Hollywood). We met up with Kelley, Tina, Steph, and Anita at the Hard Rock. By the way, if anyone knows the secret to the slot machines at the Hard Rock please let us know! The Hard Rock set up a table for us at the entrance to the venue so we could pass out all the promo merchandise. We passed out glow bracelets, temporary tattoos, mini postcards, and flyers at the show.
The glow bracelets and the mini postcards went over the best with the fans and the band.
Juke Kartel was the first band to go on, so we went up to our nosebleed seats. The boys set on this tour is only about 20 minutes. They played the following songs:
Save Me
December
Happy Birthday (we still don't know why)
Throw It Away (with the acoustic intro)
Whatcha Gonna Do?
Highway to Hell (they only played the chorus 2x)
The venue in Ft. Lauderdale had reserved seating for this show, so most of the people were sitting for Juke's set. Some of them finally stood up when they played Throw It Away and Highway To Hell. During their set Toby mentioned that Todd had to go to the hospital the night before for alcohol poisoning, we thought he was kidding! They announced that they would be signing stuff after their set, so when the set ended we started to head back downstairs. First we stopped in the restroom, and we ended up street teaming there too!!
The autograph signing at this show was not organized at all. All of the fans just swarmed the table, there was no security anywhere. After about 15 minutes the security showed up and tried to form a line, but they didn't do a very good job. They had a table set up next to the merchandise booth, and all they boys were there to greet the fans. Almost everyone wanted to meet Toby, and didn't pay much attention to the rest of the band, which was kind of disheartening. They didn't really seem to sell much merchandise at this show either, and they did not have the EP or dogtags for sale yet. I stood at the end of the line and passed out flyers to everyone after they got their autographs. The boys were taken away when Dilana's set was over so she could come out to sign stuff as well. We got the chance to talk to Todd as they were leaving, and we found out that Toby wasn't kidding he really did have to go to the hospital! We were really happy to see that he was feeling better.
After the boys played everyone else went in to watch the rest of the show, but Alicia & I walked around the Hard Rock and sat at the promo table until the show was over. We talked to people about JK as they left the show. Once the show was over we all headed over to a club next to the venue called Pangaea. Tommy Lee was the DJ at the club that night, so we hung out and partied there until 3am. There was a lot of drunken debauchery going on at the after party, but I couldn't get involved since I had to drive back to Tampa that night!
Here's a pic Booboo took of the Meet & Greet.

They sign about 20 minutes. When Dilana is done on stage they switch and
she comes out. They play first and right after their set they come to the
signing table which is right next to the merch table. They were signing during Dilana's set but then last night in VA Dilana was first and the guys were out during Panic Channel. Not sure if they changed
the roster around or not so I don't want to make it certain. But Panic
Channel is always third and they do a good show live. I met Steve Issacs
last night he is a real sweet heart too. He will go out by himself after
their set and sign stuff as well but he is not at a table he is just
wondering around.
Trust me it is so worth it to help these guys out. It is the best feeling
to see them so happy you are helping them and to see fans light up that
they have a way to find out more about them. Plus you get to see all the
kids who are glowing they are so excited about meeting the guys. Kids
really do make the best fans. Besides you can hear the whole concert, you
just can't see it.
Steve Issacs does come out to sign stuff. Dave Navarro never does (at
least not at the 3 shows I went to), but Steve and Iggy will go out after
the TPC set. They aren't at the signing table, but they wonder through the
crowd. They also are very nice about pictures and stuff, really friendly
guys.
Here are pics of Tommy Lee at the after party!

have to say that they were all really nice and down to earth.
I said three words all night in there. And none of them were good.
LMAO. Steph was the one making all the conversation. I looked at my feet a lot.
Here are some pics Booboo took of the boys on stage.

The show was at the Hard Rock Live in Ft. Lauderdale. I went with Tina, Kelley, Steph, Heather and Alicia. The management at the Hard Rock set up a table for the Street Team to use to distribute our JK glow bracelets, temporary tattoos and promotional mini postcards. We had brought about 250 glow bracelets with us and were out of them in about 10 minutes! We then tried to give out temp tattoos, but they weren't nearly as popular. If anyone is planning to street team a show, I highly recommend the glow bracelets and the mini postcards b/c the boys just LOVED them.
I finally make my way to my seat to watch the show. I told all of the people sitting around me that JK was going on first and explained that they were Toby's band from Australia. No one even knew that Toby was going to be at the show, and they all were excited to see him. Juke comes out and plays the following set:
Save Me
December
Happy Birthday (even we were like WTF?)
Throw It Away (with the acoustic part at the beginning)
What Ya Gonna Do? (I am loving this song btw)
And they ended with Highway to Hell
I think the crowd really enjoyed the boys, though I would have liked to see more people up on their feet for them. While on stage, Toby introduced the rest of the band, and when he got to Todd he said, "And this MF'er over here on guitar is Todd but we've been calling him 'Amby' b/c last night we had to call an ambulance for him when he got alcohol poisioning!" I couldn't tell if he was kidding or not, but b/c I love Todd I was worried, lol. At the end of their set, Toby announced that the band would be signing stuff out by the merchandise table. The rest of the street team girls and I made our way back out to hand out postcards with the band's web information to people who were getting out of the signing line.
The signing was really disorganized and not well thought out TBH. Tommy came out first and said hello to the ST girls and myself. Then came Toby, followed by Todd who also stopped to say hi, and lastly Dale and Eddie. The boys sat down behind a table and greeted people in line. I felt really bad for the rest of the band, b/c people were obviously there for Toby, and didn't show much interest in the other boys. They also didn't seem to be selling much merchandise. Here is a breakdown of what was available:
JK Hoodie $50
JK Tour Shirt (black) $32 (This is the shirt with the wing logo from the solo tour)
JK Pink Tanktop $32
There were no dogtags or EP's available at the show.
After the signing, Toby and the rest of the boys got whisked away, although Todd did stop for a second to talk to us. He said he had never thrown up so much in his life and that he got kicked out of two cabs b/c he couldn't stop puking. He was drinking only water that night as well. He said he was doing much better, but had only just gotten out of the hospital that morning. Poor guy! Once Todd left, we all went back to watch the rest of the show. We had missed all of Dilana's set, and most of The Panic Channel. Supernova came on, and I have to say they were better than I had expected. Lukas' inbetween song banter is kind of sucky though. He kept saying how much he "loved" the crowd and other corny crap. After the show, we went to this little club that was having an afterparty and got to see T. Lee play DJ for a while, that was really awesome!
