Recording in Seattle, WA!

Hey Dale here just checking in and giving everyone an insite into our world of JK at the moment. Well we have been in Seattle USA for the last month recording with producer Rick Parashar and pro tools engineer Christian Mock. Rick is great producer who has worked with a lot of amazing bands, Christian is also an amazing engineer and together these two guys are awesome! One thing Rick wanted to do to our music is "put the soul back into our songs" and thats suits me to a tea!!

I have been givin' lots of room in the songs to put a heap of blues (for anyone that doesn't know i love the 'blues'!) into my parts! I get more solos which i love doing! Todd has been putting down a lot of awesome rhythm tracks and is working on some really cool ideas for piano parts.

Todd and I have put down heaps of acoustic parts together which has given the songs a new dimention, Todd playing the 6 string acoustic and me playing the 12 string acoustic has given some sections of the songs a 'Led Zeppelin' vibe!!

Tommy has put down some great bass lines and Rick has let him do what he wants to and by doing this you here a talented creative bass player who sounds like no one!! Toby has been made to step outside the box also with his vocals and they are sounding ridic!!(ridiculous).

Toby along with ricks direction has stepped up another notch and well i guess everyone will have to wait to listen to his screaming vocals!! Jaybro (our newest addition) has fitted in so well to the band and it feels like he has been with Juke Kartel for years!

Rick is really into 'kick' drum patterns and along with Jays input there are some seriously awesome drum patterns and grooves in the songs! So to anyone who is hanging to hear the new sounding Juke Kartel we are sooooo hanging for you guys to hear it! There has been lots of funny things happening also here in Seattle.

If we find ourselves finishing in the studio early some nights we might go down to the local bar 'The Getaway'and drink cheap beer,play the golf game,play pool and watch Todd dance with the pillar while putting poison and whitesnake on the jukebox! but mostly things that always happen are like Tommy losing his wallet,keys,jackets etc......Toby losing his ATM card,he also got his clothes stolen from the dryer in our apartment block but what do you expect when you leave your clothes in the dryer for 16 hours!!!!

Todd is hanging to drive a car so when he learns not to drink and drive and get his licence back he might get that chance to drive!! Jaybro is really into working out and getting rock hard abs and buying 'cowboy' boots and i'm just looking for a chance to go get a haircut and find some clothes that don't make me look like a fag!! (no offence to the 'Gay' community!).

All is great with Juke Kartel and we are all looking forward for you guys listening to the new album and meeting you on our travels!!

Hey, Dale. :-) Thanks for the awesome update. After hearing your additional details about the direction JK's music is headed for this album, I'm more excited than ever. It's fantastic that flesh and blood musicianship, stretching yourself as artists/performers and your combined musical roots/influences are going to form the soul and backbone of this CD. It will be a powerful recording when it's done and I can't wait to see y'all out on tour with the new arrangements. It doesn't hurt that you guys are utterly adorable and hilarious, either.
