Radio City Music Hall

I was very impressed with how their set started. The stage was totally
dark after Dilana left. Then in the dark you heard the start of a great
drum solo. The lights then appeared on Eddie alone playing the drums - and
then the lights came on to reveal the whole band. Very dramatic. It had
the people around me - up in the third tier - cheering loudly.
At risk of repeating myself, I have to tell you - I think it really was
something to see - and I hope it stays. Drums in total darkness - everyone
looking, anticipating, not sure what's coming - then spotlight on Eddie
drumming like crazy - then the rest of the band - then spotlight on Toby.
Crowd now totally turned on and cheering. (And they say Eddie didn't feel
well last night - can't imagine how he could sound and look better.)
I am going to make this brief because I have to get back to my "real job"
today. Yuk!
So there were a total of 12 of us street teaming last night. 9 Street
Teamers - Jo, Syd, Jayess, Noelle, Brittany(Noelle's sis), Michie(a
newbie), Rachael, Tamara and myself plus 3 of our friends. We all get
there at exactly the time we were supposed to and met with the contact
person that Mum gave us. This guy was awesome to us. He gave us the layout
of the place. Set up a place for us to put our personal belongings so we
didn't have to carry them. He went above and beyond and all of us were
really grateful for that. Because I am so anal, I already made all the
street teamers bags with postcards, static stickers, tattoos and wet naps.
It saved some time. I would highly recommend doing that at future shows.
After cracking the bracelets, some of us went downstairs to place the
cards on the merchandise and signing tables and the others hit the exits
waiting for the doors to open. The bracelets were handed out beautifully
in less than 30 minutes. Cuz we were in NY, we had to make it a point to
tell them they were free or they woulndn't talk to us...lol
The show was awesome. I have to say Dilana sounded even better than in CT.
I was impressed. Our boys came on and RCMH began to shake from all the
excited fans. Everyone was on there feet and rocking out and so happy that
JK was there. As Rachael said they added Rebel Yell to the set which
according to Todd, the boys just learned how to play the day of the show.
Rebel yell was incredible and yes I have it recorded. However, they
dropped What ya gonna do to allow for the 2nd cover song. I was bummed at
first but then to be honest, they can sing twinkle, twinkle little star
and I would be happy. I swear these guys get better and better with every
show. We were swarmed by people asking about the band and about joining
the street team. You could hear people talking everywhere about Toby being
awesome and they loved JK's performance.
Here is where pooky became a sad panda. After the set, we went down stairs
to start handing out postcards online to those waiting for the signing.
There were so many people online and the majority of the people were there
for Toby which totally rocked. They kicked everyone off the line and said
to come back at 9:45. We are still not sure why. So at about that time the
line builds up again and then Dillana and Magni come out but no Toby.
About 15 minutes later, Toby comes out and everyone is freaking out. They
had a very difficult time keeping the area secure. Toby was out for 5 to
10 minutes tops which left a lot of fans very angry. Some of which
threwout their JK postcards that we worked so hard to distribute. We don't
know what happened or why but we tried to reassure everyone that was not
up to Toby and Toby if he could, would stay out there all night signing
because he really appreciates his fans. I think all of us Street Teamers
were crushed for the fans at that point. Especially since the band said on
stage that they would be signing and we as street teamers make sure to
tell people to buy merchandise and that they can get it signed. It didn't
look to good that it didn't really happen. Good thing was that Tommy and
Dale came down at the perfect time because everyone saw then and wanted
their autographs and pictures with them. It was nice to see the rest of JK
get to sign stuff too. They deserve some of the spotlight. Eddie went to
the Incubus concert so he didn't show back up until close to midnight. We
didn't see Toddie until around 11:00 and yes, there was so shoe abuse
going on...lol. I have two recorded street team messages for everyone.
They increased the EP's to 300 this show. I am not sure if they sold out.
When I was leaving there were about 25 left that I can see. I bought 12 of
them to make sure we got closer to selling out. Todd was checking on how
many they sold but I couldn't wait anymore. I think Jayess was going to
buy the rest if fans didn't get them. A lot of people left very early
because they were not happy with Supernova. I was surprised to see that
happen.
While the issue with the signing was disheartening, I have to say that I
was throughly impressed with my street team. Again, just a wonderful group
of professionals who were just there to get the word out about the guys.
They were organized and efficient and I couldn't be prouder to have them
on my team and to call them friends. You ladies really rock!
I am not sure if I missed anything, but Dilanna's street teamer came up to me and
wanted to see our card because they wanted to see what we were doing that
was so great for JK. That totally rocked

Syd and I have an awesome time! The boys were on fire! They asked them to
play another cover...*squeals* They played Rebel Yell!
Security let us in early to allow us to set up and were very helpful. Much
moreso then the Worchster people were...
We were completely out of EVERYTHING except some of the postcards. The
Tatoos we had went, all the glow bracelets. RCMH looked all pretty and
glowy with JK Bracelets...
And on Friday when I go back to work I have a feeling I will be getting a
few bribes from my Shift Manager,Heather, who said she'll divorce her
husband if it means she can have my Toby....NEVER!!!
Will go into more details later...Now I am about to fall over...
Luv,
Rachael

Hey girls!!! Can I just say what a KICKASS time I had last night!?!?!? It
was my first time as a Street Teamer AND my first time seeing JK in
person...
First off, Pooky- Kudos to you!! You are soooo organized and detailed... a
woman after my own heart! I had absolutely TONS OF FUN working those doors
and working all of the people!! (with the exception of all of the weirdos
hitting on me! LOL!) I kept running out of EVERYTHING!! I felt like I had
been doing it forever... Jayess, Rachel... 'working' with you 2 at the
doors was just a BLAST! (Rachel is right, btw...A lot of the bar staff and
merch table staff - and security staff- kept telling us what big Toby fans
they were and they wanted to represent with the bracelets too...) I even
took mine off because so many girls had asked about JK when I was in the
ladies room! LOL!
My friend took loads of pics and vids with her digi-cam and will be
sending them to me probably tonight, so I will do my best to get them all
to you guys asap! ...since we had killer seats, they probably (hopefully)
came out really well!! I can't wait to see...
Anyway- as a first time live attendee, here is my overall review...
...Dilana... I came in towards the end of her set, as I was trying to stay
at the doors longer to get the "stragglers" before JK came on... When I
came in, the stage was set up nicely.. Dark... Magni on guitar... She
actually sounded wonderful in my opinion. She and Magni looked great too.
I really enjoyed her to my surprise.
...JK... Yes! That drum solo.... AWESOME!!! As soon as the guys started,
EVERYONE was up on their feet... They did 'Burning Down the House' and
'Rebel Yell' as the covers.. (AND SOUNDED/LOOKED FABULOUS!!!) I am sooo in
love with them!!! OMG! Anyway- They did Save Me, December, TIA.....
Everyone was bouncing around.. You just can't help it. They have such a
great team dynamic and such a presence!! I heard some guys behind me
talking about how they weren't fans before but now they were - AND THEY
WENT TO BUY THE CD!!! (of course throughout the whole time, I was
undercover slipping around handing out the JK cards!! -noone caught me..
WHew!)
...Panic Channel... Hmmm... To be honest... I wasn't feeling them. I love
Dave Navarro and respect him as a musician, but how in the world do you
follow such a high energy act like JK?? I hope I don't insult anyone when
I say this, but again, in just my own opinion, PC's lead singer just
doesn't have the charisma and "oomph" that Toby does. The band as a whole
just didn't seem like such a cohesive unit. (again, sorry if that offends
anyone..)
From the middle of Panic Channel's set to the early-middle of SUperNova's
set, I was downstairs handing out more cards (which I can't believe I ran
out of!) then my friend and I hopped online to see Toby... I swear to God,
I was the next person in line when he was called away.. I was sooooo
upset!!! but I totally understand that it's not his fault. I had a great
time talking to Tamara and the rest of the girls (I was so glad she made
it!!)... We took pics with Dale and Tommy (who are just too cute for
words!). The guys signed my CD and then I decided "heck, i paid all this
money, so let me see what Lukas is like in person". So I went upstairs to
catch Supernova's set.
Supernova was extremely surprising! I am already a HUGE fan of Gilby
Clarke's and Tommy Lee's (and Jason Newstead >who was MIA btw ) but I
wasn't so thrilled about Lukas. Well, Lukas turned me into a believer of
his real quick! They were GREAT! At least in my eyes... I think Lukas held
his own and worked the crowd beautifully!! ...and when they did
Bittersweet Symphony (with a real symphony on stage and Tommy Lee on
keyboard), that just sealed the deal for me!!! OMG! It was excellent! It
gave me goosebumps! ...During 'Be Yourself', Lukas walked up along the
ledge on the wall around the side (I will send pics of that tomorrow!).
That's my fave SN song and it was definitely not a disappointment hearing
it live.
Overall, between meeting all of the ST ladies, seeing the bands, meeting
the JK guys... I had a great time... I have no voice left and my ears are
still ringing, but wow! It was SO worth it!!!!
I can't wait to do this again! Thanks for having me!!

catching up. There has been a lot of posting going on. You girls have been
busy. Gotta comment on the pictures first. Pooky! Do I have to tell you
how much I LOVE that last Tommy pic?? The ST pics came out great too. The
performance shots are awesome! What a great night.
I was so happy to see so many of you again. Pooky, Jo, Syd, Rachel you
girls are the best! Love ya!!! It was great meeting the other girls too.
Michie, Jayess, Noelle, Brittney hope I get to see you again at future
shows. Hope I didn't forget anyone.
I don't know what else I could add. Everything has pretty much been
covered. The show was great! JK rocked it! I'm so glad I was able to make
it. A little late, but there nonetheless. Definitely worth a totally
sleepless night. It's my pleasure to work with all you ladies. We make a
great team. I'm happy to be a part of it.
Phoenix is on the horizon. If I can find a cheap ticket, I'm there. I'm
looking hard. Wish me luck. I'd love to see you all again soon!

okay so it's finally my turn...
There's 9 billion reviews in here already so I'll make this short. The
guys were amazing as usual. Watching them play in Radio City really felt
like a preview of what's to come The crowd was extremely into them and
afterwards everyone seemed to all about all things JK.
Street team wise, the show was also a success. Ladies, it was a pleasure
to meet and work with all of you. We lit up Radio City Ladies, JK style.
Not only am I experiencing that dreaded JK withdrawal but I miss you girls
as well. Phoenix can't come fast enough! I couldnt have asked to be a part
of a better group and that goes for everyone here that I havent met yet as
well.
