Toby and Tommy performed last night in Gaukur á stöng, the oldest pub in Reykjavík, Iceland with Magni's band. They also have a show to do on the weekend for the Festival at Pjodhatid in Vestmannaeyjar (The Westman Islands).

This was not easy, but enjoyed all of it.
Had to call inthe old gang from my handball days
for protection. What happened outside the place and inside before the show is a story all by itself. But here is the short.......... story.
If you can find anywhere 2 more dynamic performers on stage than these 2, proof it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I do believe this was by far the best I have seen from Magni
since " I alone" . Did not start that way, but then his Icelandic songs I do not know that well.
The show started about 10 to 11pm which is late for me, yeh yeh, I am still tuned into US time. Magni and his band plaid many of their songs, some that I do know. Kind of mellow.
I was still sitting down talking to my bodyguard. (later about being asked to give up 5 chears at a 4 chear table)
Long story short, when Toby came on stage it was like Magni was transformed and I, yes I was up on my chear dancing and
making like a kid, got those old hips moving.
They, Toby and Magni were absolutly fantastic together,
Toby brings out the angst and energy in my fav. son, and I wish some of you would have been there, it was unbelieveable.
All the U2 songs they did together, plus Toby´s fav. and
may I say Toby´s energy totally transfomed the crowd, not to say that Magni did not do the same, but with songs I had never heard, so shoot me.
Darnnnnnnn I had a good time. Not been dancing on chears and table for a looooonnnnggg time.
Right now I will take Magni & Toby over Pavarotti-Carussuo, you name the duo,energy wise.
Dammmmm they were good, and I told them so.

The two where in such harmony I don´t think they should do anything else. honest to god I think Toby gives Magni a chance to let loose. I can not explain it, but they seem to feed of it´s other, and Magni more so than Toby, even though both seemed to be sssssssssoooooooooooooooo totally at ease together on stage. It was a amazing.

The Rand was great, and so was Tommy even though
he did not get as much "air time"

I love that review. It is so true. It's that energy in Toby that brought us all here together and what brought us to Juke Kartel.

Can't wait for more reviews. Too bad they didn't get a chance to see all of Juke Kartel play their original music...they would have been blown away.

"o m g last night was so awesome! Björk and I are HUGE Toby Rand fans. Toby was playing here on a nightclub with Magni so we ofcourse had to be there cuz we didn't touch him or even get close to him last time we saw him live. The problem was that you had to be 20 to get in(we're 19) so Björk's mom came with us to make sure we'd get in. We thought we'd be asked for ID's but no they let us in(thank god!). So when we got in the first thing I saw was Toby's pretty face on the stage! I almost died! I was yelling at Björk "OMG OMG HE'S SO HOT" . We were in the FRONT ROW so we got really good pics of him. Some drunk people were dancing on the tables and one guy held his beer glass over my head(i would've killed him if he'd spill it on me). Then after the show we asked a guy who was working with the band if we could see Toby and he was like "yeah sure, when the people get out I'll get him for you". We were so hyper. Then he came! He KISSED US AND HUGGED US! We could feel his sweat on us(btw im NEVER gonna take a shower again...lmao). He took some pics of him and Björk making funny faces and then he grabbed me and some guy took pics of us all three together. This was so fun! He said to us at the beginning "omg i smell like beer and im really sweatty" haha we were like "yeah imagine how we feel". Then he KISSED us again and said goodbye! I WILL NEVER FORGET THIS NIGHT..EVERR!!"
