DIRECTIONS TO THE SHOW
No matter where you live in Melbourne, getting to the event is easy. Simply follow the directions below:
Getting there from the South
Get onto Montague Street and head towards the West Gate Freeway. Go under the West Gate Freeway and get onto Wurundjeri Way. Follow Wurundjeri Way all the way around, past the Telstra Dome, until you get onto Docklands Drive. Follow Docklands Drive until you get to Waterfront City.
Getting there from the East
If you're heading into the city from Richmond, get onto Flinders Street then take a right at Spencer Street. Go north up Spencer Street, past the Southern Cross Station, then take a left onto La Trobe Street. Take a right at Harbour Esplanade then a left onto Docklands Drive and head to Waterfront City.
Getting there from the North
If you're heading into the city from Carlton get onto Peel Street by either turning left from Victoria Street or continuing down Royal Parade and getting onto Peel Street by going around the roundabout. From Peel Street take a right onto Dudley Street and follow it under the railway bridge until you get to the intersection of Dudley Street and Wurundjeri Way. Take a right down Wurundjeri Way and continue past the first intersection until you get onto Docklands Drive then follow this to Waterfront City.
Getting there from the West
If you're on the City Link heading into the city from Flemington, turn left down the Footscray Road exit and get onto Footscray Road. Keep following Footscray Road (you'll know you're on the right track if you can see lots of shipping containers on your right hand side). When you get to Docklands Drive, turn right and go past New Quay. When you get to Dopel Way start looking for parking in the designated parking bays and then head to Waterfront City.

As far as on the day is concerned given the nature of the event being for eradicating poverty we wont be handing any street team merch out. So its your chance to be there, witness something special, support Juke Kartel, have fun & to be a part of an event that is not only socially inspiring but a completely worthwhile cause.
I hope to see as many of us street teamers and friends there.

it was raining here in the south western part of victoria earlier and it usually heads towards melbounre but it should get there this afternoon

Heaps of pics taken but, again, I'll let the other girls do the reviews...I think they might still be there.
It ended up being inside as they thought it might rain which meant smaller stage and closer to the band. Hehe.
Hubby was picked to hold a banner up for the ambassadors to run through it and proceed into the venue and they video taped it and took pics so you might see hubby. lol.
The performance was fucken amazing. A great experience for me as I had only seen the boys play together at RSSN and I was a fair distance away but with this one...well....I was right there in front of Todd. We were so close that Todd nearly wacked Adelle in the head with his guitar and he also nearly kicked me when he was playing. lol.
A great day for a great cause adn I will share pics shortly but I am absolutely exhausted so I will be back with pics and more info soon.

sweet, im the first to post!
let me start by saying it was an amazing day for an amazing cause.
I got there and met up with a few of the toehr STers (sorry girls i told u im terrible with names). The show was schedualed to start at 11:30am but because it was moved to an indoor venue (due to rain and strong winds) it was pushed back to about 01:30pm. While we were waiting the JK boys came down n had a good chat with everyone, took some pics, signed some stuff and explained how Eddie had gone home quickly and would be back soon (God knows why).
Once inside and the first band (who were actually quite good...like a Jet meets John Butler Trio) had played, the boys got up and did a fantstic set. They started with Save Me, and the other songs followed in an order similar to this:
- Save Me
- Sublime Truth
- (New Song)
- December
- (New Song)
- Rebel Yell
- Throw It Away (with a 'Highway To Hell' outro)
They were awsome and most of us got to stand right at the front of the pit. Toby did his usual rounds letting random people sing, taking a camera up and taking pics of the croud, taking a video camera and videoing himelsf, the crowd, himeslf again, the boys, and himself once again. A great show in total.
After the show, the fun continued. Toby took the drumstick i caught at the RSSN concert and got the boys to sign it for me, before i urged some of the toehr girls to ask Eddie for his sticks from the day. (They got them + signatures). while the last band were up doing their set (more of a house/techno rap style) the boys came down into the crowd for some drinks and a chat. It was amazing how easy it was to talk to them. We all had a talk about the most random thing...and i have witnesses to prove that Tommy told us he was gay and offered me sex! :flirt:
What a fun day it was. A few pople stayed around till everyone left, and the boys even went to the effort of doing a quick run around saying goodbye to everyone pesonally.
But overall it was an amazing day. Great times, great set, and great chat. Hope we can do it all again soon.

i too am waiting on the pics, theres a few of me.
due to technical difficulties (aka dead batteries) i couldnt take pictures, so some of the girls took them of me and the boys and will post them.
If u want some awsome close-up-in-action pics of the JK boys stay tuned koz ud b suprised at how carried away some of the girls got with their cameras. (Some brought more than one).
So theres a fair few pics, and theyr good concidering we were about a foot and a half from the boys with no security guard.
I alos god a decent vid of 'December' on my pone, ill do my best to post it for everyone.

The show was $#%^%ING AWESOME!!! they were loud and energetic and just blew me away! damn!!!

the boys were sooo sweet afterwards... i got anoth pic with toby for my collection - and im taller than him! lol!
what an awesome day, so worth getting up before 3:00p.m. for!!!
Sounds AMAZING!!!!! I am off to the beach for the day, but I can't wait to come home and read and see more. Nothing like close cozy shots to welcome me home, so rest a bit and then LET THE POSTING BEGIN!!! :biglaugh: I am so glad a great time was had by all!!!!! The Best Band for the Best Cause and you luckies got to witness it!!!!! I admit, I am a BIT jealous. Have a great day!!!!! :wave:

Good morning!! er...almost afternoon. Guess what I can't post pics yet cuz I have no way to upload them. I will when I get back to Shae's.
The concert was AMAZING!! I feel so blessed to have been able to see them play here in OZ. Thanks guys!!
Loving the pics & reviews...here's my version...
First of all, everyone takes trains, trolleys (lol trams) & walks. FAR. Thank God for Shae & our shopping trip to get me some closed toed shoes with no heels. So we had to walk like 5 miles to the venue...when we got up to Paris/Lana/Tania & the girls in line, I heard my name being yelled from above, & it was Todd & Toby up on the balcony! It was so great to see them! And then Dale came to see what was up & he looked down & said WTF!!?!??? are YOU doing here?? LOL he had no idea. Todd was saying it was just too weird for me being HERE & he was confused as to whether he was back in the states all of a sudden.
Toby & Tommy & Dale came down, and were standing in a group of peeps chatting away...I got tired of waiting for my hugs so I went & tapped Tommy on the shoulder from behind & got the biggest hug ever. He whispered that everyone was staring & wondering who the heck I was to get a hug (not quite the words he used but I'll leave it PG here). LOL Got a hug from Toby & then Dale and had a few minutes to chat. Then right before the Make Poverty History ambassadors ran thru the banner to go inside, they started cheering & were stampeding towards the stairs...Toby & Tommy looked at each other like "RUN!!!" & hightailed it up the stairs just in time. It was the funniest thing! Dale got stuck downstairs & had to wait in line to get back in...so, we were kind enough to let him cut in with us. ;)
So...on to inside...

sorry, kiki's computer keeps kicking me out. LOL
So the show got moved inside due to possible rain (it didn't) but they were SOO happy because the place was PACKED. Todd was really excited to play inside with a venue like that.
So the boys were over in this side VIP area for a bit, chatting with their families & friends...and they came out to talk to everyone as the other band was playing. Unfortunately, I broke my camera in Vegas a few weeks ago & was using a new one...could NOT get an in focus picture to save my life for about the first 1/2 hour. All my pics with Tommy & Todd & Dale from the beginning are blurry. So sad. Of course Todd was trying to avoid the Snapperazzi as much as possible but I still followed him around some. "Put the *#(&%*(#&$ camera away Jodes!" lol (of course, I didn't)
So got to meet a bunch more of the OZ st'ers, so cool - Shezzie, Becca, a bunch more (I'm like Legend & am horrible with names). Saw Eddie with his brother Scott & I went & said hi to him & he couldn't believe I came all the way to OZ to see them play...awww (I had to fess up & say I was there for business originally & didn't find out about the show til I landed here)
so, we evenutally started making our way thru the crowd & I was determined to get up front - for pics & cuz I was VERY short in my flat boots. Got my prime spot right in front of Tommy :) DAMN he's hotter than ever. They all looked great. I gave Dale & Todd some JK guitar picks to use as they were setting up...and when they came out the crowd went CRAZY!! It was soooo cool to see their faces looking out in the crowd of people singing all the words.

They had to cut it a bit short so the other band could play but the boys were very gracious & said no problem! Anyway, the show was fanfreakingtastic...loved every second of it. Toby sang with Adelle forever & I got to sing a bar of Throw it Away "I just don't need it!" Toby did take his genius shirt off to get down to a wife beater and he had more red/pink band tattoes than last time I saw him. HOTTT. Pics of the crowd from someone's camera (Shezzie's?), lots of great interaction. The girl that sang before JK came up for the last song. Chavelle? (sp) I didn't want it to end!!
No secret tour news, but just everyone know they are doing everything they can to get things finished & finalized so they can get back out there & play, whereever/whenever that may be...they can't wait to see all their fans the world over again & appreciate EVERYTHING that EVERYONE does for them...and I'm sure playing yesterday to such an incredible response was a huge reminder to what they want to get back out there & do!
After the show the guys walked around & talked to everyone. They are so great with their fans. I snapped some random pics of course & will try to get them to everyone asap. Wait'll you guys see the money shot (no, not that money shot) of Tommy. OMG THUD. So we had some drinks & for me it was just so great to get to talk to everyone that lives here, instead of the usual online stuff. Everyone is soo nice!! Oh I got the OZ version of the JK t-shirt...(thanks Kiki, I owe ya!), it's really cool. Saw Eddie's parents & his mom said she knew someone from the states was coming over - cuz she reads the board, how great is that!! - & wasn't sure if it was me or Kel or Tina...they are SOO nice & so proud of their son. Met Todd's mom & she is a doll - has the firmest handshake ever, loved it! Saw Lucy & chatted for a few...we gotta get Lucy's thread back up!...it was all such a great time. I just wanted to soak every last minute up, so I only had one (maybe 2) drinks.
a bunch of us girls & Shae's hubby went out & had food & drinks...& oh my I have a headached today. Jager bombs, all kinds of Aussie stubby (lol), vodka redbulls...nice mix. However I'm not the one still in bed... hee hee
so 3.5 more days to go, I got to go to the infamous Espy on Saturday night, very cool. So as I nurse my headache I will try to see what else I can remember...& will get pics up asap!! (I'm one of the out of control pic takers from down front, but I didn't have 2) :)

We turned the corner towards the toilets and Becca tried to go into the Male toilets but i stopped her. when we walked back out i could see a guy that looked like Ed talking to someone so i said is that ed?. Becca's like where where. it was him we went back to line up with our hearts a flutter and we saw him walk in the direction of the toilets and becca was upset that i stopped her from going to the male toilets.

Ok, well I have to official retract my membership as a JK Virgin after yesterday. And I could not be more glad.
I have taken so many pictures so it might take me awhile to put them all up. I went with two of my best friends one who knew Toby and Juke Kartel because of the show and another who only knew about Juke Kartel because of me constantly talking about them, it was also her first concert ever so I was really excited to share it with her.
They also had a great deal of fun teasing me throughout the day especially when Toby and Tommy came down stairs to talk to people, I assumed they knew. Which started my constant threats to them throughout the day about how If they embarrassed me I would not be responsible for my actions.
Anyway, when we finally got upstairs my Dad who took me knowing that there was no way I was going to ask Toby myself for a picture asked Toby for me. This being my first ever meeting of Toby I was straight away in complete awe with how he acted, as when my dad introduced himself for a moment I thought, OMG MY DAD KNOWS TOBY AND DIDN’T TELL ME. Then just realised that is how Toby acts towards everyone, so I was impressed. I got my picture and managed to talk to Toby and thank him. Which I thought was impressive because usually in these situations I become mute and and lose the ability to move.
Moving on to the actually show. They were fucking awesome! My love for this band has intensified which I didn’t even think was possible. I knew and was able to sing along to most of their songs except for a few I feel in love with “If Only” which I had never heard before as well. As I said it was one of my friends first concerts, and she really liked Juke Kartel and is also now in love with Toby. So I have successfully converted another! I had so much fun when they were playing even though these two tall dudes stood in front of me ( I am short so I was annoyed) I still had a great view. As I said I took a ridiculous amount of photos while they were on stage.
When it ended I was kinda disappointed because it went by so quickly but afterwards My newly converted friend went into paparazzi mode and took pictures of them while the packed up and got this awesome shot of Toby. This is when I decided I wanted them to sign my CD of their’s that I just bought plus my friend always carries around a autograph book just in case she meets a celebrity and wanted to finally have some signatures in there. So we hung around for a while and when Todd came out I went up to him MYSELF and asked for an autograph. I was quite proud of myself. Then as we were about to leave (because my friend had to go to work in about an hour) I spotted Toby again and waited for a while and once again I asked him MYSELF for an autograph. This was a big thing for me because as I said before in those situations I usually freeze and just stand there looking ridiculous.
I also got another picture with Toby this time with my two other friends, I would post it but I think one of them would actually kill me.
I know this is along review but I just had such a fantastic time yesterday I can’t help but explain it in long detail. But I guess you all know how I feel.
Thanks to Juke Kartel for making yesterday a day I will never forget.

Just a recap of my perspective of the day.
We had cut it fine and were rather late for the line up. Shae and her hubby Brett, Jodie, Kik, and I scrambled up to the line, last night's Espy eyes hidden behind sunnies lol! The boys waved down to us from the balcony so we waved daintily back hehehe. Luckily we got a good spot in the line and filed in once the ambassadors had gone before us.
The guys were hanging around inside, mingling and being their wonderful selves.
Just before JK came on we decided to get a good vantage point at the stage and listened to some really motivating and heartfelt speeches by reps of the Make Poverty History campaign...such an awesome undertaking and one worth backing 100%
The guys came out rocking (Jodie's done the set list) Here's my take on it.
I had to lean forward to get this pic and moved my head fortuitously quick enough not to be slammed by Todd's guitar. How embarrassing that would have been! :uhoh:
The floorboards were thumping, the stage was shaking at the onset of Save Me. The crowd whipped into a frenzy for the first time that day.
Sublime Truth came next...fantastic! I have so many faves it's ridiculous lol.
Smoking Gun was the highlight for me. Toby sang some of it to me and came over and grabbed my camera for a shot of he and I. Darn thing didn't work but oh well I was still excited. Many of my trusty back ups came to the rescue and popped off these lol.

As much as I want to remember, the next few songs were a blur. I was so into the excitement they all went so fast!
Toby started singing TIA and held his hand out to me as he sang some of it then came over, crowched down and shared the mike with me to sing a bit of it lol. Hope his voice drowned mine out haha! Once again, Lana and Kaz thank you for looking out for me!
Toby then ran over to our gorgeous American stmer, Jodie and copped her vocals into his mike lol.
The guys were just bloody rocking it throughout! I once again was at a terrible angle for Eddie and Dale...always works out that way. I kept getting mesmerised by Tommy's and Todd's energy because they were right in front of me. Eddie was crashing the drums and Dale was working his magic strings. God they get into it!!
Toby was all over the stage, grabbing cameras and getting the crowd going with his, "Sing!" and arm raised in the air, jumping up on Eddie's drums and rocking out! The speakers were just thumping through us it was so loud and high energy!!
Whew it astounds me every time I see JK! I can't believe how fortunate we are to be seeing them in these settings! Treasure it, people for I think these type of venues will be fond memories come the near future.
All too soon it was over. Seemed like we'd stepped into a time warp and were tossed out again.
It was a nice come down though because the guys stayed back to mingle and show their appreciation of their friends that turned up to support them.
Wonderful, wonderful, funny guys. And tall! I didn't realise how tall Todd actually is!! Wow, he towered over me lol!
And I ran into Tim again.....you're gorgeous, Tim if you're reading this lol. Definately inherited the Rand genes. :nod:
And Aussie Roger what a pleasure it was to meet you on the day as well! :wave:
